Leader II Product Mgmt Job Description: • Functions as a Senior Projects Manager responsible for mission resource coordination, complex mission planning, cost execution management, team logistics and support management, team compliance, and building excellent internal GDLS business partner, lead GDLS business partner teams, and customer relationships in support of foreign military missions across multiple countries. Direct report to the Ft. Hood CSO Director. • Requires a leader that can work professionally in complex, changing customer support requirements. A leader that can find common ground with customers and business partners leading to solutions. A leader that is adaptable and capable of creating internal communication processes that effectively manage a continuous changing support environment. • Directly manages maintenance, training and logistics operations in support of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) clients worldwide, management functions can include Materiel Fielding Operations, New Equipment Training, Field Service Representatives, and Warehouse Operations. • Possesses the experience and technical skill necessary to build support concepts leading to the establishment of a Regional Sustainment Center • This position is assigned in Poland but may require manager to go TDY for multiple months as required. Current list of countries include management of GDLS Ft. Hood teams in Poland, Taiwan, and Australia. Egypt, Romania, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are potential future countries that this position will be required to manage or deploy TDY to support and manage. • Requires expert planning and analysis skills, including a full understanding of the military contracting process and becoming the subject matter expert for new business contracting opportunities. Must be able to create detailed plans jointly with product management leading to successful mission execution and efficient operational cost management. • Manages a complex customer and business partner engagement program including United States Government (USG) customers, GDLS Customer Support management, GDLS program management, GDLS business development, FMS customers, and numerous USG organizations. • Creates and manages detailed site administrative processes in multiple functional areas including supply, procurement, contracting, maintenance, change management, Whole Systems Business Model, and IT. • Conducts research, analysis and coordination for future business and prepares information and/or COA briefings with detailed recommendations in support of tracked combat vehicle (TCV) product management and program goals. • Interfaces with senior GDLS management, government and military leadership. Engages USG clients at Brigade, Division, and Corps levels. • Develops detailed metrics and objectives linked to organizational goals. • Travels to multiple locations ensuring client satisfaction and, as necessary, to coordinate new business opportunities. This position may require manager to go TDY to multiple overseas locations to engage business partners and potential customers. • Familiar with Lean Six Sigma and Team Based Management principles Job Requirements: • Management or leadership experience of a minimum of 20 years required. • Expert planning skills. Must have experience with military technical information and cost management knowledge. Practical experience and training using the Military Decision-Making Process a must. • Bachelors degree required. Master’s degree preferred. • Must have extensive experience in leading and managing diverse and complex logistics operations (including maintenance, supply, and transportation). • Able to serve as a prime consultant and external spokesperson for the organization on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives. • Proven and documented performance in complex leadership positions required. • Vast experience needed in briefing preparation and strong communication skills, written and oral, a must. • Able to develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity which requires a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness. • Strong interpersonal skill set and team building experience required. Must be able to create solutions and avoid friction. • Background investigation required. • Excellent computer skills and mastery of Microsoft Power Point, Excel and Word • Must be experienced in Safety, Hazardous Materials management, and individual/team training. • Must be available and willing to travel globally for extended periods of time to support customer requirements.
