Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Math, 0-10 years experience, ability to travel, and proficiency in Microsoft Office; preferred experience in cost accounting, FAR, CAS, and government contracting.
Overview Financial Analyst positions are available within the Subcontract Audit group of Program Finance at Electric Boat. The Subcontract Audit analyst performs financial audits of supplier proposals. This includes fact finding fieldwork at the supplier's facility which requires occasional travel (about 10-25%). The analysis includes the evaluation of each cost element supporting the supplier's proposal. Cost elements include: man-hours, labor rates, material, indirect rates and other direct costs. Auditors develop a clear set of work papers and produce an audit report which will assist Materials Management in negotiating a fair and reasonable price with the supplier. Auditors may also assist in the negotiations. In addition to performing the audits, analysts will perform financial conditional analyses of select suppliers, price analyses, and special projects as required. Qualifications Required: • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Math • 0-10 years of experience • Ability to travel domestically and internationally • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Preferred: • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance • 1+ years of Business related experience in accounting or finance including internships • 1+ years of experience in Cost Accounting • 1+ years of experience in Cost Analysis • 1+ years of experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) • 1+ years of experience with government contracting activities Skills • The ability to prioritize and multitask in order to meet deadlines • Written and verbal communication skills • Ability to travel domestically and internationally • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
