Please be sure to submit a current resume when applying for this position POSITION SUMMARY The Communication Manager is responsible for leading the development and implementation of Hope Channel International's (HCI) communication strategy, a unified voice for Hope Channel International (HCI) across internal, external, and donor-facing platforms, including executive communications, video scripts, and newsletters. This role manages HCI’s brand voice, strengthens HCI’s brand presence, supervises communication staff and contractors, and collaborates with other departments and network entities to ensure strategic alignment, clear storytelling, and effective audience communication. The Communication Manager supports fundraising and global initiatives through consistent messaging that reflects the organization’s mission, values, and the teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. COMPENSATION • Full-time exempt position with benefits • Remuneration Range: 87-96% ($83K - $91K annually) BENEFITS Salary employees receive comprehensive benefits packages, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement savings plans, etc. SUPERVISOR: Vyacheslav Demyan, President ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Strategic Messaging & Brand Voice • Lead the development and oversight of HCI’s verbal brand identity, ensuring that all tone, messaging, and language consistently reflect and reinforce Hope Channel’s mission. • Oversee the implementation of verbal identity across content and campaign execution to drive audience engagement and donor acquisition, ensuring alignment with fundraising, programming, and overall brand objectives. • Define, maintain, and reinforce HCI’s verbal brand identity across all communication channels. • Ensure consistency in tone, language, and messaging throughout campaigns, leadership communications, and public-facing content. Network & Internal Communication • Lead the development and execution of organization-wide communication strategies that support HCI’s mission, vision, and initiatives. • Ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment across platforms. • Manage HCI’s email marketing platform and contact collection systems. • Manage strategic communication with the global network, including but not limited to the development and execution of Hope Pulse as a unifying Hope Channel brand. Donor and Advancement Communication • Manage the drafting and production of high-level communications such as talking points for public appearances, newsletters, press releases, and scripts in collaboration with leadership, adhering to deadlines and project specifications. • Manage the creation of newsletters for content platforms, donor engagement, and executive communications. Content Oversight and Platform Strategy • Review and approve public-facing statements and appearances to ensure alignment with HCI’s strategic goals, values, and brand standards. • Own and manage HCI’s global story bank by connecting with network entities, following up on story leads, and developing stories for use in fundraising campaigns, administrative presentations, board reports, and more. • Serve as on-camera talent and represent Hope Channel International at domestic and global events. Support event planning and execution as needed and be available to travel. • Evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and lead improvements based on performance data, stakeholder feedback, and organizational needs. • Build and manage a diverse network of freelance writers, designers, and content creators to support HCI’s ongoing communication needs across platforms. • Oversee the full lifecycle of freelance projects—including onboarding, briefing, reviewing, and approvals—to ensure timely, on-brand, and mission-aligned content delivery. • Maintain a vetted freelancer database, assigning projects strategically based on skills, availability, and budget, while fostering long-term collaborative relationships. • Provide clear editorial direction and theological oversight to ensure all freelance-produced content reflects the values and teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Stakeholder & Media Relations • Supervise a communication team that includes a direct report and a network of contractors. Provide guidance, assign projects, and ensure all deliverables meet HCI’s brand voice, strategic objectives, and editorial standards. • Establish and maintain strong relationships with media outlets to ensure positive and accurate coverage of the organization’s work. • Handle multiple tasks efficiently, adapting to shifting priorities while meeting deadlines • Must be a member in regular standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. • Must maintain a regular and reliable attendance schedule. • Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree in development, marketing or communications related fields required. Appropriate successful work experience may be acceptable in lieu of scholastic requirements. • Four or more years successful relevant work experience is required to gain the skills and knowledge to perform job duties. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Knowledge of principles and policies of the General Conference and beliefs of the Church. Knowledge of church structure and organization. • Ability to understand and clearly communicate the vision, mission and priorities of Hope Channel Inc. • Ability to take appropriate initiative and manage all phases of assigned projects/events. • Proven skills in networking and building strategic collaborative relationships. • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize projects. • Strong multiple project management and organizational skills, interpersonal skills and be highly adaptable. • Strong computer skills with the MS Office Suite (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc). • Knowledge and skill in appropriate methods of dealing with human behavior in various circumstances. • Ability to perform administrative functions; develop long- and short-term plans and programs to effectively evaluate work accomplishments; establish and maintain effective relationships with internal/external personnel. • Advanced command of English language skills including proficiency in verbal and written forms.
