About The Role: Gen3 seeks a Mainframe Systems Engineer to provide senior-level engineering expertise covering legacy IRS mainframe environments connected to hybrid cloud data flows. The Mainframe Engineer will also support data inventory and tagging (DIT) integration, data tagging, and security control enforcement in mainframe-connected systems. Location: Remote, US Key Responsibilities: Analyze mainframe data flows and support data tagging, classification, and protection strategies for legacy systems. Integrate mainframe security with Cybersecurity Information Protection Enhancement, data loss prevention, data inventory and tagging, CASB/SASE architectures. Support modernization efforts, mapping legacy data, schemas, and lineage as part of enterprise data inventory. Design controls to prevent exfiltration, unauthorized replication, or misuse of mainframe data. Assist with modeling, documentation, testing, and incident response workflows. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of science or engineering in computer science, and/or related fields. 10+ years mainframe engineering. Experience integrating mainframe systems with cloud, data loss prevention, data inventory and tagging, and Zero Trust programs.
