The company focuses on producing cell culture products and solutions that help customers streamline their discovery, development, and production processes, and by making custom cGMP bioprocess liquids that radically simplify customers' manufacturing workflows – regardless of batch size. Located in West Sacramento, California, GeminiBio has two manufacturing facilities, comprising a total of 57,000 square feet. To meet the stringent needs of biotechnology research and production customers, the company's cell culture sera and bioprocess liquid manufacturing facilities are segregated between animal origin-free cGMP manufacturing and animal component cGMP manufacturing. GeminiBio is an ISO 13485 certified, FDA registered Class 1 Medical Device Manufacturer, aligned with 21 CFR Part 820. Position Summary The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain process, from procurement to delivery, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business goals. Key Responsibilities Oversee all supply chain functions—including procurement, production planning, inventory management and logistics—from demand forecasting and replenishment through delivery of finished goods to customers. Drive operational efficiency and ensure Continuous Improvement across processes to meet cost, quality, and service objectives. Logistics • Oversee and optimize the performance of inbound/outbound logistics through effective management of KPIs and daily board meetings. • Coordinate and manage international and high value cold chain shipments to ensure RTFT. • Stay current on Import and Export cold chain regulations to reduce delayed and/ or damaged products. • Continuously evaluate current couriers and freight forwarders to reduce costs and improve service quality. • Optimize and standardize packaging procedures and materials and collaborate with QA to validate them to ensure RTFT. • Manage customer complaints and claims through courier and freight insurance. • Lead and develop the logistics team by setting clear goals, providing coaching, and fostering a culture of accountability and Continuous Improvement. Inventory & S&OP • Oversee cycle counts/annual counts and ensure ERP health. • Run bi-weekly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings, collaborating with cross-functional teams—including Commercial, Manufacturing, Quality, and Customer Service—to align demand and supply plans. • Periodically review historical sales data and adjust Min/Max quantities to optimize inventory levels and reduce stockouts or excess. • Maintain deep expertise in the Sage ERP system; mentor team members and implement process improvements to maximize system utilization. Increase automation of routine tasks through Sage ERP to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors. Procurement • Oversee and optimize the performance of purchasing process through KPIs and daily/weekly board meeting. • Develop and execute sourcing strategies across diverse and complex supplier segments—balancing cost, quality, and risk mitigation. • Establish contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions and maintain uninterrupted operations. • Negotiate pricing and contractual terms while building strong, collaborative supplier relationships to support business continuity. • Lead and develop the Procurement team by setting clear goals, providing coaching, and fostering a culture of accountability and Continuous Improvement. Required Skills and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Operations/Industrial Engineering (MBA or APICS CPIM/CSCP/CIPS preferred). • Proven experience managing both individual contributors and people managers, with a track record of building high-performing teams. • Demonstrated success in deploying Lean Management and Operational Excellence systems and tools to drive process improvement and efficiency. • Deep ERP/MRP expertise; advanced analytics in Excel and other analytical tools. • Proven supplier negotiation and contracting skills with demonstrated results in reducing costs within key cost categories. • 5-10+ years in manufacturing supply chain with global sourcing and cold chain expertise.
