Full Description

Description: • Build and manage a new team of engineers to create tools, framework, and automation in planning domains. • Enable application teams to deliver enterprise-wide products that are performant, efficient, and reliable. • Solve complex problems in a multi-cloud model across On-prem, Azure, and AWS. • Provide friction-less customer experience and maintain high standards of reliability and availability. • Collaborate with application teams to understand performance, efficiency, reliability pain points and formulate strategies. • Influence and build vision with application owners to ship quality products faster. • Own end-to-end delivery of team strategy and execution. • Develop and motivate teams; advocate for open-source technologies and solutions. • Be technically hands-on in coding and building highly available systems. • Build and mentor a new team of software engineers. • Drive solutions toward long-term goals while addressing high priority tech debt. • Lead in Site Reliability engineering, Operational excellence, and DevOps principles. • Drive workload and cost optimization opportunities. • Share best practices and improve processes across teams. Requirements: • Hands-on Software engineering manager with strong understanding of Capacity and Infra structure Engineering, FinOps Engineering. • Fluency with at least one modern language such as Python, Java, Go and experience with open-source software is a big plus. • Hands-on experience in managing infrastructure components through Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible • Strong technical acumen in Cloud Architecture, Performance Benchmarking, Capacity planning and Reliability tools. • Expert in Container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), container runtimes and OS (Operating System) optimization. • Experience in Observability platforms, application monitoring tools and performance analysis techniques. • Experience managing & growing technical leaders and teams. • In-depth knowledge of data structures and algorithms. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including software development lifecycle best practices • 5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment • 5+ years of hands-on work experience supervising personnel in a technical environment • 2+ years' experience with automated testing including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End functional testing Benefits: • Comprehensive Total Rewards program that offers personalized coverage tailor-made for you and your family’s overall well-being. • Financial benefits including market-competitive compensation; a 401K savings plan vested from day one that offers a 6% match; performance and recognition-based incentives; and tuition assistance. • Access to additional benefits like mental healthcare as well as fertility and adoption assistance. • Supports flexibility- We provide workplace flexibility as well as our GEICO Flex program, which offers the ability to work from anywhere in the US for up to four weeks per year.
