Job Description Summary Job Description Summary The Commercial Manager (CM) drives functional and operational Commercial Intensity and rigor for assigned deal opportunities. The CM will manage the quoting, proposal generation, contract negotiation, and turnover processes for assigned deal opportunities. In this role, will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope and have the understanding and experience to execute business objectives, be involved in short-term and long-term planning and contribute to the overall business strategy. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Work as a key member of the Clean Combustion team in support of achieving the commitments, orders, sales, cash, operating profit, and margin targets for the applicable segment. Work with Clean Combustion Sales team, lead proposal generation and contract formation process for upgrades, repairs, site services projects with the intent of developing winning strategies to leverage successful deal closures while ensuring compliance with established guidelines for the Company’s Policy 5.0 risk management process. Support the Sales team before/during commercial and technical meetings/negotiations with customers. Be responsible for effectively driving the proposal and contract processes to develop scope, cost, risk, and market / value pricing strategy for an assigned deal opportunity to provide technical and commercial solutions meeting both customer and Fossil Americas requirements and business goals. This effort requires collaborating with the respective sales, operations, and other functional teams during the deal development and review process to ensure that all technical risk points, risk mitigation, and business risk acceptance levels are properly incorporated into the development of the opportunity scope, cost, strategy, and actual proposal / contract language Prepare and lead the Deal Team review process in co-ordination with the applicable Leaders, subject matter experts, approvers, and functional teams. Be responsible for reducing cost-of-quality issues arising from inaccurate or poor scope definition, costing, or contract drafting during the process including handover and advance release process. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Technical equivalent from an accredited college or university 3+ years of experience in Sales/Commercial Operations or graduate from GE leadership program having undertaken 2 commercial assignment or projects/field /estimating/proposal experience within Energy and/or Industrial sectors Must be willing to travel up to 15% Desired Characteristics Experience with Steam Generators, Core Services in Power Plants Experience estimating and managing low to highly complex proposals. Ability to develop and execute priorities and plans for self . Good technical and commercial oral & written communication skills. Ability to effectively interface with all levels of internal and external customers Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Time management skills and ability to work across functions Ability to work independently and be a self-starter Customer, Service, Continuous Improvement (LEAN) and “Solutions” mindset You must have legal authorization to work in Canada and any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
