Site, Business, OR Functional Area Overview: This role sits within Field Services and partners cross-functionally with product support, engineering, services operations, and customer service teams to design, deliver, and sustain training programs that elevate field execution and customer satisfaction. Role Overview The Lead Service Specialist – Training leads all field services training activities for internal teams and customers. You will design curricula, deliver training on products, systems, and processes, manage instructor resources, and provide ongoing coaching and support. You will leverage technical expertise and analytical thinking to execute policy and strategy, integrate best practices across functions, and continuously improve training effectiveness and service quality. This role includes direct people leadership responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end field training lifecycle: assess needs, design curricula, develop materials, deliver training, and evaluate effectiveness Deliver product, system, process, safety, and quality training to field employees and customers; ensure content accuracy and compliance Provide ongoing post-training support and coaching to drive consistent field service execution and adherence to standards Manage training operations: staffing, instructor readiness, scheduling, facilities/virtual platforms, and resource allocation Utilize technical expertise to tailor training to varied equipment, interdependent processes, and complex field scenarios Apply analytics to measure training outcomes; track KPIs (e.g., pass rates, field quality trends, rework, cycle time) and drive corrective actions Collaborate with engineering, product support, field service leadership, and quality to integrate updates (service bulletins, technical changes) into training Benchmark best practices and maintain awareness of competitive capabilities; differentiate programs through measurable impact Lead small projects and initiatives with low risk and limited resources; guide less experienced colleagues and build instructional capability across the team Document and maintain training standards, policy execution, and audit readiness; contribute to continuous improvement Communicate performance expectations, conduct reviews, and support performance development for direct reports Support customer engagements, demonstrations, and program reviews as a training subject matter expert Required Qualifications For roles in the USA: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; or high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in Services and/or Training functions Demonstrated experience designing and delivering technical training for field services or closely related technical environments Proficiency interpreting technical data, procedures, and service documentation, and translating complex concepts into practical training Experience managing training operations and coordinating across functions Strong stakeholder communication and facilitation skills Desired Characteristics Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to explain complex topics clearly Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems using data and technical judgment Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs end-to-end Established project management skills, including schedule, risk, and stakeholder management Experience mentoring and developing instructional staff or technical trainers Familiarity with learning evaluation frameworks and training KPIs; experience with LMS or digital learning tools Additional Information Work Authorization/Compliance: This role may require access to U.S. export-controlled information Closing At GE Aerospace, we are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that values diversity and empowers employees to thrive.
