We are searching for a result-oriented Mechanical Applications Engineer I to join our Vantage Team. Vantage is seeking a motivated Mechanical Applications Engineer I that will be responsible for laying out specialty elevator equipment for project specific field applications, confirming specifications, standards, and changes required to make a product for the Manufacturing Department. Interactions with multiple departments will be required, including answering questions for Sales to confirm technical functionality, collaboration with other Engineering or Manufacturing departments, and solving technical issues with Customer Service. Our Ideal Candidate Will Be a technically skilled and detail-oriented problem solver with a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor. They will demonstrate excellent analytical and communication skills, allowing them to interpret customer specifications, provide technical support, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Sales, Customer Service, Estimating, and Manufacturing. This candidate will be proactive and adaptable, capable of managing retrofit and custom projects while ensuring alignment with quality and production standards. Comfortable working independently or as part of a team, they will bring a professional attitude, strong organizational abilities, and a results-driven mindset to every aspect of their work. Requirements We are searching for a candidate with: • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related field with 0-2 years of of direct experience is preferred • 1-2 years of Autodesk AutoCAD knowledge required; Autodesk Inventor required. • Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills. • Exceptional work ethic, time management, and organizational skills. • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). • Excellent communication and organizational skills. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision when required. Duties and Responsibilities A typical day may include: • Manage and interpret customer requirements and specifications. • Process retrofitting projects that may require modification of company products and equipment. • Work with various departments such as Customer Service, Estimating, Sales, and Manufacturing to ensure client specifications are met. • Problem solve and answer questions about the technical functionality of mechanical equipment. • Provide technical support for mechanical products. • Orchestrate both simple and complex tasks with limited supervision. Daily responsibilities will depend on the employee’s ability to produce results from existing limited solutions and to maintain a professional attitude. • Participate in information gathering calls and/or meetings with clients to determine the clients' needs, and desired outcomes. These meetings may involve job site visits, and surveying that may lead to job specific product development. • Present information and new ideas for review and possible implementation into new and existing Review and understand product design changes related to elevator control equipment. Work Environment & Hazards • General office environment. • Must be able to remain sedentary for extended periods of time. • 10%-30% of the time may be spent on the manufacturing floor. • Risk of injury on manufacturing floor. Special Physical Demands • Limited physical effort. Requires occasional moving of materials and equipment • Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
