About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled AWS DevOps Engineer to design, build, and secure cloud infrastructure that powers Gabb’s platform and device ecosystem. This role combines hands-on (≈70%) with architectural guidance and cross-team collaboration (≈30%). You’ll ensure our environments are scalable, observable, cost-efficient, and secure. Key Responsibilities-What You'll Do Cloud Infrastructure Development – Build and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform/CDK. Automate provisioning, scaling, and monitoring for dev, staging, and production. Security & Compliance – Implement and automate security controls, vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and policy-as-code. Identity & Access Management – Manage IAM roles, policies, and encryption with KMS. Integrate with AWS Secrets Manager or Vault. Networking & Security Posture – Architect secure VPCs, subnets, and routing; implement WAF, GuardDuty, and Shield. Automation & Tooling – Write reusable automation in Python, Go, or Bash. Enforce IaC linting and drift detection. Incident Management – Participate in on-call rotations, resolve production incidents, and lead RCA improvements. Required Qualifications-What You'll Need 6+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud, or Security Engineering (AWS-focused) Expert-level understanding of AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFront, IAM, VPC, KMS, etc.) Strong IaC experience: Terraform, CDK, or Pulumi Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CodeBuild, or Jenkins) Skilled with Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes Solid grasp of networking & load balancing (ALB/NLB, Route53, VPC Peering) Experience with security & compliance tooling (OPA, AWS Config, Security Hub) Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash Experience with monitoring: Datadog, Prometheus, or CloudWatch Preferred Skills Experience with SOC2, NIST, or CIS compliance automation Familiarity with Kubernetes and Helm Prior experience in a security-first consumer tech or IoT company Mindset & Soft Skills Strong ownership and accountability mindset Excellent communication and documentation habits Thrives in a high-autonomy, fast-paced environment Work Expectations • Remote position; collaborate during US Mountain Time hours • Long-term engagement with potential for growth into architecture leadership Why Join Gabb • Shape cloud and security architecture for a mission-driven company impacting millions of families • Work directly with senior engineers and platform leadership • Be part of a team that values technical excellence, autonomy, and security-first design About Gabb Gabb is the leader in safe technology for kids and teens.
