Manage automotive glass product launch programs, coordinate with engineering teams, and ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management, proficiency in MS Office and MS Project, familiarity with ERP systems like Oracle, and experience in automotive or manufacturing industries.
Summary/Objective The Junior Program Manager works with the Product Development Engineer and Advance Quality Engineer to quote, develop and launch new automotive glass products for OEMs. The Junior PM will communicate directly with the customer on all matters concerning the initial launch of the program. Represent Fuyao at customer development events and meetings. Maintain documents in accordance with Fuyao policies, APQP and Customer deliverables. Essential Functions • New Product Launch - Automotive Glass (Mainly encapsulation) - Capable of handling OEM Customers and multiple programs/window openings. • Internal leader of Iron Triangle and OEM program. Several forms of communication are required: face-to-face meetings, emails, texts, WeChat, verbal, written forms, etc. • Key Player / Value stream leader for the OEM customer - "Voice of the Customer" for internal processes and proceedings. Organize internal teammates and processes to fulfill and support customer deliverables. • Thoroughly understands purchasing procedure process and anticipates and handles any problems and questions pursuant to customer satisfaction. • Maintaining the program budget and timing is a central requirement. This includes components, tooling, equipment and packaging purchases and development. Responsible for COST: from Quote to Invoice. • Provide direction and support to program team (Fuyao Automotive North America and China), including scheduling meetings, updating open issues list, and any other project-related information. • Creator of timing charts, ensure ON TIME delivery of products to the customer. Back-up plan and expedited delivery schedules. Offset of delays • Monitor and report on the progress of the project to all stakeholders, including reporting to company management. • Attending engineering change meetings as needed at customer assembly and technical center. Responsible for implementing the engineering change in the plant. • Within the first 90 days - acquire product and process knowledge - commensurate with leadership role. Understand and be able to present to customer management core product lines. • Other duties as assigned by management. Ability to work overtime depending on program timing and be multi-functional. However, managerial skill is expected in the program team. Work Environment • This job operates between a manufacturing and office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines as well as interfacing with the operation of machinery on the floor. • Must be 18 years or older Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The position involves sitting, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds for long periods of time throughout the day. The ability to move around the office environment and on the production floor and the ability to work at a computer workstation is required. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Travelling is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Management • COMPUTER SKILLS - MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. MS Project skilled. • Outlook is the email client. Also, use of Skype, and SharePoint navigation. • Knowledge of and familiarity with MRP/ERP software. Currently using Oracle Preferred Education and Experience • Master’s degree is preferred. • IATF/APQP/PPAP training preferred.
