Business Unit Overview: StarChapter is a leading provider of Association Management Software (AMS) focused on local chapters of professional and trade associations. Our platform is designed to streamline and optimize association management, allowing volunteer board members to focus on their industry. We are seeking a PHP Developer to join our remote team and help advance our platform’s development. Job Summary: This is a new position on our internal development team. This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys cross-team collaboration, working independently, and communicating well with both technical and non-technical team members. As a PHP Developer, you will be essential in the development and enhancement of our AMS SaaS product. With oversight and guidance from a Team Lead and Product Manager, you will collaborate with a team of contractors, investigate and resolve reported bugs, improve code quality based on published standards, and assist with new feature development. Primary Responsibilities: Development: Develop and maintain PHP-based applications and services for our AMS SaaS platform, ensuring high quality and performance. Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards. Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that align with business goals. Troubleshoot and Debug: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs and performance issues to maintain optimal system performance. Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of code, processes, and system architecture to facilitate knowledge sharing and project continuity. Skills & Competencies: Experience: Experience as a PHP Developer, particularly in AMS or related SaaS environments. Technical Skills: Proficiency in LAMP stack technologies, JavaScript, and Git. Prior experience with frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony. Remote Work: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote setting with strong self-management and communication skills. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum Qualifications: Experience with cloud services (AWS preferred), Cloudflare, and containerization (Docker). Knowledge of additional programming languages or technologies.
