Full Description

Location: Charleston, SC (Remote with occasional travel) Successful and growing local CPA firm based in Charleston, SC is seeking an experienced Remote External Auditor to join their team! This firm is known for providing high-quality tax, audit and bookkeeping services to a diverse client base. The team values professionalism, collaboration, and continuous learning, while offering flexibility and a supportive work environment. MUST have experience working for a CPA firm as an External Auditor! Position Overview: This role is focused primarily on HOA audits. The position offers both independence and flexibility of remote work, with only occasional in-person meetings in Charleston a few times a year. The ideal candidate will be a licensed CPA or CPA candidate with at least 4-5 years of public accounting auditing experience. Key Responsibilities: • Perform financial statement audits in accordance with professional standards. • Review internal controls and assess risks to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. • Test selected transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. • Communicate effectively with clients and third parties to gather necessary documentation and clarification. • Document findings and prepare clear, concise audit workpapers. • Issue audit reports summarizing findings and recommendations. • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of engagements. Qualifications: • CPA license or active CPA candidate status required. • Minimum of 4-5 years of auditing experience in public accounting. • Strong knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards. • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines. • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
