Full Description

As a Senior Software Engineer with Frontier Direct, you will own the design, implementation, and reliability of systems that directly support Frontier’s products and patients. You will lead complex feature development, mentor other engineers, and ensure systems are built with security, scalability, and compliance in mind. This role carries system-level ownership and on-call responsibility. Key Responsibilities Team and Peers Serve as a technical leader and mentor to junior and other engineers Provide high-quality code reviews and set engineering quality standards Attend weekly 1:1s with your manager and daily huddles with your team Collaborate closely with product, operations, and compliance stakeholders Participate in peer code reviews Run L1 support on a rotation with team members Development Process Design and implement scalable frontend and backend systems Own complex features and subsystems end-to-end Approve changes affecting PHI, authentication, permissions, and data models Lead refactors and technical debt reduction efforts Ensure proper logging, monitoring, and auditability Communicate deadlines and issues that come up during the development lifecycle Work effectively within the current technology stack of Frontier Write code and deliver PRs that show you have thoughtfully and thoroughly QA’d your own work Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering Production and Incident Response Participate as primary on-call for production systems Lead incident investigation and resolution Coordinate with compliance and leadership during incidents BENEFITS Taking Care of You Now and Your Future Medical, dental, and vision insurance Frontier Membership for you and your immediate family Voluntary insurance: short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, and other supplemental insurances. 401(k) plan: Free access to financial wellness platforms that provide financial advisors + personal finance tools Time Off Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO) policy, with team members taking an average of 20 days per year.
