Job description Chief Finance and Operations Officer CHIEF FINANCE AND OPERATIONS OFFICER (CFOO) As a key partner to the CEO and a pivotal leader within the organization, the CFOO will oversee all financial and operational functions, ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and scalability of our internal infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings a rare blend of analytical rigor, operational discipline, and strategic foresight—and excels in stakeholder engagement, vendor engagement, and cross-functional leadership. This role is responsible for driving financial performance, overseeing enterprise-wide operations, managing key external relationships, and aligning execution with the organization’s strategic goals. As second-in-command, the CFOO acts as a key advisor and proxy to the CEO in matters of internal management and enterprise performance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Leadership Lead financial strategy, planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and compliance to support growth and sustainability. Provide data-driven insights and financial modeling to inform strategic decision-making across the executive team. Oversee accounting, treasury, risk management, audit, and tax functions with strong internal controls and governance practices. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and financial reporting requirements, both internal and external. Prepare and present financial and strategic updates to the Board of Directors, and key external stakeholders. Operational Excellence Oversee enterprise operations across HR, Legal, IT, Procurement, Facilities, and Administrative functions. Design and implement scalable systems, policies, and infrastructure that support cross-functional alignment and organizational growth. Champion operational KPIs and performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement and accountability across all operational areas. Lead risk assessment, business continuity, and internal audit processes to safeguard assets and operational integrity. Stakeholder Engagement & Vendor Management Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including financial institutions, auditors, regulatory agencies, and strategic partners. Serve as the executive point of contact for key service providers, vendors, and contractors, ensuring alignment with performance expectations, budgets, and strategic goals. Negotiate high-value contracts and service agreements, optimizing cost, quality, compliance, and long-term value. Establish and oversee vendor governance frameworks, including performance evaluation, risk management, and lifecycle oversight. Represent the organization in external forums, partnerships, and community or industry initiatives where operational and financial leadership are critical. Executive Leadership & Strategy Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and a core contributor to the organization’s long-term vision and business model evolution. Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing finance and operations teams, fostering leadership capacity, cross-functional collaboration, and succession readiness. Act as a cultural steward and change agent, supporting the organization's commitment to values-driven leadership and inclusive, high-performance work environments. Lead cross-departmental strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment between vision, resources, and execution. QUALIFICATIONS Proven experience (10+ years) in senior finance and operations leadership roles with demonstrated success managing stakeholder relationships and third-party partnerships. Track record of negotiating and managing large-scale vendor contracts and operational service agreements. Deep understanding of enterprise financial management, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance. Operational expertise in HR, IT, legal, procurement, and facilities, with an ability to build and scale enterprise systems and processes. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; capable of navigating complex relationships with external stakeholders and internal teams alike. Experience engaging with Boards, legal counsel, auditors, and regulators in high-stakes environments. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required. MBA, CPA, or other advanced credentials strongly preferred. Ideal Candidate Profile A strategic operator with financial acumen and a bias toward execution and results.
