The Business Development Specialist will generate new business primarily through direct sales and support sales team activities. Responsibilities include market observation, competitive analysis, and collaboration with various stakeholders to grow sales in the food manufacturing sector.
Candidates should have an engineering or technical degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in direct sales. Strong communication skills and experience with CRM systems are essential, along with a willingness to travel.

Responsibilities: Generate significant new business mainly through direct sales and also through sales team support activity, prioritizing direct account focus at assigned accounts to grow sales. Approach targeted end customers, service companies, and channel partners (incl. manufacturers’ representatives and distributors) by offering value-based solutions and a strong application-based approach. Generate over-proportional sales growth in your focus sub-segments with existing Kluber Lubrication Brand products. Continuous market observation and evaluation of your focus sub-segments throughout North America to stay current on industry needs, requirements, trends, and issues in order to grow business. Generate awareness, interest, and preference for Klüber Lubrication products (select Kluber Brand and Summit Brand product portfolio). Gather, consolidate, analyse, and disseminate information about competitive products to develop sales strategies vs key Food market competitors in order to grow business. Initiate new product developments for your focus sub-segments by generating requirement profiles and development plans. Collaborate with end-users, channel partners, engineering, and sales departments for technical and application expertise. Using creative and meaningful communication channels, share industry specific information and data with the sales organization. Work with Marketing to develop new literature or promotional material for your sub-segments as needed. Responsible for evaluation of pricing for key products in your focus sub-segments. In collaboration with both the Vertical Manager and the Pricing Team, and following the guidelines of the KL-Group, establish or modify pricing to ensure appropriate margins are met while still providing a competitive pricing to target customers. Implement and oversee price increases for your focus sub-segments as required to maintain appropriate margin goals. Evaluate delivery performance and recommend inventory levels for critical products needed in your focus sub-segments that will lead to business growth. Review and suggest package modifications and/or needs to meet customer requirements or to enhance product presentation while remaining within guidelines of overhead expenses to meet product margin and sales growth goals Qualifications: Engineering or Technical degree, preferably in the field of mechanical or chemical engineering, chemistry, technology or comparable knowledge and qualifications acquired in practice. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a direct sales environment with a track record of strong sales growth and increasing responsibility. Ability to multi-task with multiple projects running concurrently • Demonstrated experience with CRM systems for daily sales work. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) required. • Willingness to travel an estimated 50% in the US and Canada.
