Cisco FTD/FMC Engineer Sr – Telecom Architecture | Austin (Hybrid) Our client is seeking a Senior Cisco FTD/FMC Engineer to help design, secure, and modernize a large-scale WAN transport system serving communities across Texas. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on complex network challenges, has deep expertise in Cisco security technologies, and enjoys shaping enterprise network architecture for the future. You’ll be part of a collaborative Telecom Architecture team focused on reliability, security, and scalability. Your work will directly strengthen mission-critical infrastructure and support long-term network growth. What You’ll Do • Lead network architecture initiatives, capacity planning, and design strategies aligned with cybersecurity objectives. • Enhance network security posture using Cisco FTD firewalls, FMC, DWDM technologies, and advanced routing systems. • Develop standardized network solutions and operational practices leveraging Cisco FMC, Splunk, and SolarWinds. • Monitor and analyze network stability and availability, recommending improvements to support mission- and business-critical services. • Provide documentation and guidance on EACMS design standards to drive consistency and long-term operability. What We’re Looking For • 9+ years of experience in network design and/or operations. • Proven expertise with Cisco FTD/FMC and advanced routing protocols. • Strong understanding of cybersecurity design principles and enterprise network architecture. • Knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including networking, servers, operating systems, and network management tools such as SolarWinds. • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
