The Director of Product Marketing will conduct market research to identify trends and customer needs while supporting the development of go-to-market strategies for new products. They will collaborate with sales and product management to ensure effective positioning and messaging across various channels.
Candidates should have over 7 years of product marketing experience in B2B SaaS or technology companies, with at least 3 years in a senior role. A proven track record in product launches and strategic planning is essential.
What You'll Do: Market Intelligence & Research Conduct comprehensive market research to identify opportunities, trends, and customer needs Analyze competitor features, functionality, and positioning strategies Monitor competitive landscape continuously and provide actionable insights to product and executive teams Track industry trends and emerging technologies that could impact our product strategy Support the accuracy of competitive battle cards and positioning documents Strategic Planning & Go-to-Market In partnership with sales leadership and sales enablement, support the development and lead the go-to-market messaging and positioning for new products and features In partnership with sales leadership and sales enablement, create comprehensive launch plans including messaging, positioning, and channel strategy Partner with product management to prioritize features based on market insights and customer feedback Define product and feature positioning that differentiates us in the marketplace Product Positioning & Messaging Train Sales Leadership and Account Executives on appropriate product and feature positioning. Support the creation of sales enablement materials including pitch decks, demo scripts, and objection handling guides Collaborate with Brand and Marketing Communications to ensure consistent messaging across all channels Work closely with CRO, VPs, and frontline managers to embed product marketing into the MEDDPICC sales process, ensuring alignment on metrics, economic buyers, decision criteria, and champion development. Support the creation of sales playbooks, messaging frameworks, objection handling guides, and competitive positioning aligned with MEDPICC stages. Translate product capabilities into quantifiable business outcomes, ROI models, and customer proof points that directly support Economic Buyer conversations. Partner with sales on strategic deals, contributing insights and messaging tailored to customer decision-makers. Gather feedback from deals lost/won to inform product and marketing strategy. Support the development of client-facing content (case studies, success stories, impact metrics) that helps reps build and equip strong champions within accounts. Cross-Functional Leadership Work closely with product management to influence product roadmap based on market insights Partner with sales teams to understand customer feedback and competitive dynamics Collaborate with marketing teams on demand generation and content marketing strategies Present market insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership Build relationships with key customers and prospects to gather direct market feedback What You'll Need: 7+ years of product marketing experience, in B2B SaaS or technology companies 3+ years in a senior or leadership role with demonstrated ability to build teams and processes Proven track record of successful product launches and go-to-market execution across multiple products and multiple market verticals Experience conducting market research and competitive analysis across multiple products and multiple market verticals Background in both strategic planning and hands-on execution across multiple products and multiple market verticals Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex market data into actionable insights Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strategic thinking combined with tactical execution capabilities Experience with market research methodologies and competitive intelligence tools Proficiency in marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and analytics tools Project management skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously Personal Attributes: Demonstrates an entrepreneurial approach and excels at establishing processes from inception, effectively scaling solutions to meet enterprise requirements.
