Job Description Fortune Brands Innovations – Outdoors, home to leading brands Therma-Tru, Fiberon, Fypon, Larson, and Solar Innovations, is seeking a Business Development Manager – Single-Family to drive growth and market share across the Southeast U.S. This role focuses on developing and executing strategies to engage national and regional single-family home builders, converting opportunities into long-term partnerships across all brands. You will Think Fast by leveraging market insights and builder relationships to identify growth opportunities; Work It Together by collaborating with strategic account managers, territory managers, and channel partners; and Make the Hard Call by prioritizing resources and strategies to deliver results. Position location: Southeast U.S. region. This position requires up to 40% travel. What you will be doing Develop and implement a single-family market strategy that addresses builders, contractors, developers, channel partners, and architects in the region. Achieve annual targets and deliver results aligned with regional business plans. Retain and grow share with large regional builders. Support the Strategic Account Manager at divisional level with top 50 national home builders in the region; potentially manage accounts concentrated in one region. Drive strategic relationships and joint planning with single-family channel partner teams to ensure alignment on growth and retention. Mentor Territory Managers and Regional Managers on business development competencies. Align with Territory Managers to set annual targets and achieve conversion goals. Develop programs to ensure full utilization of the Fortune Brands Outdoors product portfolio across all brands. Identify and help implement technology and process improvements to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of single-family strategies. Manage assigned budgets within approved guidelines to maintain and grow business. Monitor and communicate market trends, competitive practices, and product performance to stakeholders. Coordinate organizational resources to maximize opportunities with strategic customers. Qualifications Required: 3–5 years of outside field sales experience with regional and national single-family home builders. Strong negotiation skills and experience managing key accounts. Ability to drive specifications through program development. Understanding of corporate environments, including marketing and product development. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills for audiences of all sizes. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams and functions. Strong analytical skills to assess market conditions and develop strategic responses. Flexibility to travel and work non-standard hours as needed. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field. Experience in contract negotiation and P&L management. Experience in two-step distribution in building materials. Additional Information Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $80,000 USD - $126,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
