This role requires an expert understanding of software development principles, web development technologies, and complex cloud infrastructure to deliver innovative, scalable, and secure solutions that significantly enhance operational efficiency across the organization. The Lead PowerApps Developer will mentor junior developers, establish development best practices, manage the application lifecycle, and collaborate extensively with cross-functional stakeholders to translate strategic business requirements into robust, high-performance applications, ensuring seamless and secure integration within our existing IT ecosystem. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Architecture • Define and enforce architectural standards and best practices for the entire Power Platform environment (PowerApps, Power Automate, Dataverse/CDS). • Lead the technical design and execution of large-scale PowerApps solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and adherence to enterprise architecture guidelines. • Mentor and provide technical guidance to a team of PowerApps and front-end developers, fostering skill development and quality control. Development & Integration • Design, develop, and customize complex, mission-critical PowerApps applications, leveraging Canvas and Model-Driven apps, ensuring optimal performance, responsiveness, and usability. • Architect and implement sophisticated integrations with external enterprise data sources such as SQL databases, Azure services (Logic Apps, Functions), RESTful APIs, and other cloud platforms (AWS). • Oversee the integration of advanced front-end functionalities, working closely with front-end developers to incorporate complex React, Express, and JavaScript components into applications using PowerApps Component Framework (PCF) where necessary. Governance & Security • Establish and govern the application lifecycle management (ALM) process for Power Platform solutions, including deployment pipelines and environment strategy. • Spearhead the implementation and enforcement of rigorous security best practices, including RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and security audits across all developed applications. • Manage source code control strategy using enterprise version control systems such as Git/GitHub and enforce branching and merging standards. Collaboration & Process • Act as a primary technical liaison between the development team, business stakeholders, and enterprise architecture teams to gather, analyze, and translate complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications. • Drive the adoption of Agile development methodologies within the team, leading sprint planning, code reviews, and architectural reviews. • Maintain comprehensive documentation for architectural designs, technical specifications, and development standards. • Proactively research and evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., .NET, C#, Python, C++, Quantum computing concepts) to continuously enhance the capabilities and efficiency of our Power Platform solutions. Experience & Qualifications • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in software development, with a minimum of 3+ years in a Lead/Senior role focusing on the Microsoft Power Platform. • Expert, hands-on experience architecting and developing robust, scalable applications using PowerApps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, and Dataverse/CDS within a large-scale enterprise environment. • Proven technical leadership experience, including mentoring developers, leading design sessions, and setting development standards. • Deep understanding and practical experience with enterprise integration patterns and services, including RESTful APIs, SQL Server/MySQL databases, and complex cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure services like Azure Functions, Logic Apps). • Extensive experience with web development technologies and frameworks: JavaScript, React, C#, .NET, and Python, with a strong ability to integrate custom code components (PCF). • Expert knowledge of ALM best practices for the Power Platform, including automated deployment, solution management, and environment strategy. • Proficiency in utilizing version control systems like Git/GitHub for team-based development and code management. • Strong expertise in application security principles, specifically implementing and governing RBAC and DLP policies within the Power Platform. • Familiarity with foundational IT infrastructure components, including Linux servers and networking concepts. • Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of driving multiple technical projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
