The Senior IT EMR Project Manager will manage multiple complex EMR IT projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and enhancing patient care through effective project execution. Responsibilities • Directs, coordinates, and supervises project-related activities of a diverse implementation team consisting of functional and technical staff. • Leads cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of EMR projects (e.g. Epic, iKnowMed, Meditech, PointClickCare) • Responsible for assembling the project staff; for their technical or functional development and performance, during the project or projects • Leads, directs, and coordinates the project team in the design of overall projects and in the development of implementation plans and project timelines • Oversee system integration efforts including HL7 interfaces, third-party applications, APIs, and data migration efforts • Identifies and develops working relationships with affected stakeholders at all levels • Advises process teams representing stakeholder needs regarding cross-functional considerations, workflow integration and coordination, and optimization of best practices • Identifies, secures, and coordinates implementation of internal and external resources and expertise as appropriate to achieve project objectives • Ensures projects are proceeding according to timelines, meeting targets and expectations, and adhering to established operating parameters • Directs status meetings and elevates issues and risks identified, and works with Project Sponsors, Management, and Executive Governance to resolve and mitigate issues and risks • Coordinate system configuration, data migration, testing, and training to ensure a seamless transition and successful user adoption • Responsible for developing and managing overall project schedule and budget. • Creates and delivers project status reports to project resources and other relevant stakeholders • Creates and maintains critical project and analytic, requirements, and design related artifacts Skills • Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparable experience • Minimum seven (7) years direct project management experience managing EMR projects, including complex EMR migrations • Strong experience using an industry-standard Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool • Knowledgeable of clinical workflows, healthcare operations, and interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) • Expertise in ITIL, Agile, and Waterfall SDLC principles and methodologies • Experience with large-scale IT projects including custom, commercial application/platform, integration, and infrastructure solution implementations. Ability to manage/coordinate multi-site or phased rollouts • Familiarity with value-based care models and population health platforms • Strong understanding and application of Project Management processes and methodologies • Ability to influence leaders and cross functional peers • Strong organizational skills • Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project performance • Excellent written and verbal communication, professional writing, presentation, and reporting skills • Experience in executive communication, relationship building and decision making • Expert level proficiency using computer software and applications, including advance features of Smartsheet, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, MS Project, and SharePoint to share, retrieve, research, and present business information • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively with stakeholders and senior business leadership of departments and customers participating in this project • Ability to organize and work effectively with project teams made up of internal staff and/or external parties (agents, vendors, etc.) • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT, Healthcare, or related field preferred • ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) preferred • CSM (Certified Scrum Master) preferred • ITIL certification preferred Benefits • Tuition reimbursement • 401-K match • Pet and legal insurance Company Overview • Founded in 1984, Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) is the largest independent medical oncology/hematology practice in the United States.
