Role Overview and Responsibilities: As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a high-performing team through the technical delivery of products that solve challenging problems for flight schools and aspiring pilots as we help to grow the next generation of professional pilots. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to drive tangible outcomes through a mix of established product and new innovations. You’ll be responsible for guiding and developing your team while upholding high standards throughout the development, deployment, and operations of our software. By fostering a culture of excellence underpinned by accountability, action, and continuous improvement, you’ll play a pivotal role in our company’s growth as we help to build the next generation of aviation. Lead your team to set clear goals and build amazing products that will amaze our customers Hire and manage new team members and oversee third-party contractors, including offshore and nearshore resources Drive team growth and development through mentoring, 1-on-1s, and creating opportunities for professional progression Foster a high-performance team culture built on empowerment, ownership, and results with a bias toward action Work with your development team to establish and maintain an architectural vision while advocating for technical initiatives to better the team and product Interface with the Product Management team to drive current and future initiatives and to ensure alignment with business outcomes Create and follow through on feedback loops to ensure delivered work is adopted and delivers stakeholder value Own technical processes while establishing and maintaining high standards of quality, performance, reliability, and security Contribute to development initiatives include design discussions, code reviews, and hands-on coding when needed Leverage KPIs to evaluate team output and outcomes and using the insights to drive continuous improvement and ensure alignment with business objectives Problem-solve and adapt quickly to changing conditions Required Experience: Proven experience in technical management Ability to understand and prioritize the impact of the team’s work on stakeholders and customers Experience leveraging KPIs to measure output and outcomes with a focus on continuous improvement Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and delegate Demonstrated commitment to personal and team growth, fostering a culture of excellence Have high standards and a strong work ethic with a positive attitude Bachelor's Degree preferred Helpful, but not Required Experience: Experience with relevant technologies: Azure C# .Net Angular SQL Server PowerBI AI in Engineering Processes and Products Jira Administration Aviation Experience Benefits: Full benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Short-Term Disability, Life Insurance, 401(k) plan) Equity Appreciation Plan Flexible Time Off policy Seven (7) company-wide paid holidays + two (2) floating holidays Two (2) wellness days Employee Assistance Program Professional Development Stipend Home Office Stipend Compensation: The salary range for this role has been established at $145,000 - $160,000 annually. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, skills, prior work experience, competencies, and geographic work location. The above salary range represents the Company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
