About the Job • Title: Benefits Compliance Specialist • Term: 6 months contract • Location: Newark, NJ (will shift to a hybrid schedule after the training) • Pay Rate: Up to $32/hour • Referral Bonus: $500 Roles and Responsibilities • Ensure monthly ACA regulatory requirements are met by monitoring enrollment records, employee PT/FT status, plan affordability and minimum coverage standards as required under the ACA. • Supports all aspects of eligibility reporting in a timely and accurate manner for the Federal Government’s HHS regulatory requirements for: mandatory required coverage, benefit maximum waiting periods, and affordable coverage rules. • Perform analysis and reconciliations of reports to identify possible discrepancies between the various systems used both internal/external to the company. Requires extensive interaction with internal and external stakeholders, and an outstanding knowledge of systems reporting. • Orchestrate annual IRS reporting requirements associated with IRS 1095C and 1094C. Effort requires knowledge of systems requirements/plan eligibility rules and understanding ACA regulations. • Supports financial control functions by processing benefit claims and administrative fees and tracks payments using spread sheets. • Executes the monthly analysis of fringe benefit expenditures, annual and periodic cost data. Supports finance’s fiscal yearend close with reporting, data and financial analysis for GASB, OPEB, and Benefit Plan reserve calculations. • Track and monitors Benefit provider’s performance guarantees, rebates, and discounts to ensure adherence per provider contract. • Supports the maintenance of the HRMS Benefits module including, system upgrades, plan updates and ad • hoc reporting as needed to support the department. • Provide excellent Customer Service to internal and external customers. • Additional duties as assigned. Education, Experience and Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related area • Three (3) years of Benefits analytical experience directly involved in Employee Benefits/Finance and database information systems Knowledge and Skills: • Experience/understanding of Federal regulations related to Benefit Plan Administration including ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA ERISA. • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft; Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint. Working knowledge of computer IS/HRMS queries and ad hoc reporting. Ready to take the next step?
