The Operations Manager – Transport Division plays a key leadership role in overseeing all aspects of transport operations at Fleet Strategy Group, including fleet movement, driver performance, DOT compliance, safety standards, and customer delivery logistics. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong working knowledge of the transportation industry, and the ability to train and mentor CDL drivers. The Operations Manager ensures that transport activities are executed safely, efficiently, and on time — while upholding service quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Transport Operations & Driver Management • Supervise and schedule vehicle movement and logistics operations • Train, coach, and evaluate CDL drivers and transport team members • Enforce DOT regulations, safety protocols, and company driving standards • Oversee vehicle inspection processes, maintenance tracking, and documentation • Support dispatching and routing to ensure on-time and cost-effective service Fleet & Equipment Oversight • Manage vehicle assignments, mileage tracking, and usage logs • Ensure fleet vehicles meet DOT and internal safety standards • Coordinate with the Maintenance team to reduce vehicle downtime • Review and verify pre- and post-trip inspections KPI & Performance Monitoring • Track key transport metrics: delivery success rate, fuel usage, downtime, safety incidents • Identify opportunities for cost control and operational improvements • Provide weekly reporting on transport performance and driver activity • Assist with transport budget planning for fuel, repairs, and staffing Customer & Team Communication • Serve as the primary contact for transport-related client concerns • Communicate status updates and delays to internal and external stakeholders • Ensure customer delivery expectations are met with professionalism and accuracy Team Development & Safety Culture • Lead onboarding and ongoing training for CDL drivers • Enforce SOPs for loading/unloading, cargo security, and vehicle cleanliness • Promote a proactive safety culture through regular team meetings and training • Conduct safety audits and accident investigations when needed Required Qualifications: • 3–5+ years of experience in transport operations or fleet logistics • In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations and CDL compliance • Strong leadership and communication skills • Experience training and supervising CDL drivers • Proficiency in Google Workspace and dispatch or tracking platforms Preferred Skills: • Bilingual (English/Spanish) • Experience with Class 6–8 trucks or fleet-based transport services • Basic mechanical knowledge or inspection training • Prior experience in a high-volume or upfitting-focused environment Job Type: Full-time Pay: $2,000.00 - $3,000.00 per month Work Location: Remote
