About the Role FLATS LLC, a Proper company, is seeking a dedicated Janitorial professional to maintain the cleanliness, order, and overall presentation of our apartment building in Uptown, Chicago. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all common areas, amenities, and back-of-house spaces remain clean, safe, and inviting. Your work will include daily cleaning routines, restocking supplies, waste removal, light upkeep, and supporting the overall appearance and hygiene standards of the property. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for someone with hands-on janitorial or housekeeping experience in residential buildings, hospitality, or similar property environments. Key Responsibilities • Perform daily cleaning of lobbies, hallways, restrooms, stairwells, elevators, fitness areas, and other shared spaces • Empty trash receptacles and manage waste removal according to property guidelines • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and wipe surfaces to maintain a pristine environment • Restock supplies in restrooms and amenity spaces • Monitor cleanliness throughout the day and respond promptly to spills or urgent cleaning needs • Provide friendly and professional customer service to residents, guests, and team members while on-site • Assist with light maintenance and upkeep tasks, including but not limited to plunging toilets, changing light bulbs, basic troubleshooting, minor spot cleaning, and tidying exterior grounds • Support snow/ice removal efforts as needed • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and unusual conditions to the appropriate team members • Support move-in/move-out turnover cleaning as requested Hours & Schedule • Hours: 40 hours a week • Schedule: 8am - 3pm CST | Tuesday-Saturday • Business Operating hours (for your reference): • Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM • Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM • Sunday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM • Individual work schedule is subject to business needs and may or may not include weekends, holidays, and evenings, which will be coordinated and approved by your direct report.
