The Merchandise Manager plays an important role in driving this mission forward by leading store operations, inspiring teams, and ensuring the store delivers an exceptional customer experience every day. Role and Responsibilities: As a Merchandise Manager, you will oversee key store functions, manage merchandising execution, and ensure product presentation aligns with company standards. You will lead associates, optimize visual displays, and maintain operational excellence while fostering an engaging and fun environment. • Oversee the receiving, unpacking, and organization of new stock to ensure timely placement on the sales floor. • Manage the setup and maintenance of displays for assigned sections, ensuring accurate signage and proper execution of promotions and seasonal updates. • Lead daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, securing cash, and maintaining store readiness. • Act as Manager on Duty when needed, handling staff management, customer concerns, and operational performance. • Supervise associates to ensure efficient task execution and high-quality customer service. • Support onboarding and ongoing training of associates in store policies, procedures, and product knowledge. • Drive store sales and control expenses by optimizing merchandising, staffing, and overall operations. • Execute company inventory integrity processes and ensure product layouts align with corporate merchandising plans. Required Skills and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required; college experience preferred. • Minimum of 2 years of management experience. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively. • Creative thinking and strong problem-solving abilities. • Ability to remain composed under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: • Previous retail management or merchandising experience. • Strong leadership and team development skills. • Familiarity with store layout, display setup, and inventory management systems. Essential Job Functions: • Operate cash register as needed during store operations. • Move and organize merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs, often reaching up to 10 feet high. • Climb ladders and access stock areas to retrieve and organize merchandise. • Kneel, bend, and twist regularly while performing stockroom and sales floor tasks. • Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and associates both in-person and over the phone. • Remain active on the sales floor for extended periods and assist customers as needed. • Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight shifts or travel as required. • Read and interpret store communications, layouts, and standard operating procedures accurately.
