7+ years sales experience in complex, consultative enterprise sales, preferably with public sector or government clients, strong negotiation and communication skills, and ability to manage long procurement cycles.
This is a remote position. First Due, an industry-leading SaaS company creating cutting-edge public safety software, is seeking a high-performing Enterprise Sales Representative to drive strategic growth of our public safety software solutions within the largest Fire and EMS agencies across the United States. This role focuses on complex, consultative selling into high-profile departments with sophisticated operational needs, long procurement cycles, and multi-stakeholder buying committees. You will own the entire enterprise sales lifecycle—from prospecting to contracting—and serve as a trusted advisor to agency leadership. Key Responsibilities Enterprise Sales Execution · Develop, manage, and close a pipeline of enterprise opportunities with the largest Fire/EMS agencies in the United States · Own all aspects of the enterprise sales cycle: discovery, demonstrations, solution design, proposals, negotiations, and contract execution. · Build relationships with Chiefs, Deputy Chiefs, IT leaders, procurement teams, and key decision-makers. · Lead RFP/RFQ responses and coordinate cross-functional resources (sales engineering, product, account management, legal). Strategic Account Management · Create and execute account plans to identify opportunities for new business, expansions, and multi-year partnerships. · Deliver clear understanding of agency needs, workflows, processes, and compliance requirements. · Serve as the primary point of contact for executive-level customer conversations throughout the buyer journey. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment · Partner with Sales Engineering to craft tailored demonstrations that highlight operational and compliance value. · Work closely with Marketing to support enterprise campaigns, industry events, and targeted outreach. · Coordinate with Customer Success and Implementation teams to ensure smooth handoffs and a positive customer experience. Market Knowledge & Thought Leadership · Maintain expert-level understanding of the Fire/EMS landscape and emerging trends in public safety. · Track competitive players and articulate clear differentiation of our SaaS solutions. · Represent First Due at industry conferences, trade shows, and regional association events. Qualifications Required · 7+ years of sales experience, selling to either Fortune 1,000 companies and or the top 250 populated cities/counties in the public sector with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding quota. · Experience selling into government, large public sector agencies, or organizations with long, complex procurement cycles. · Strong consultative selling skills with ability to lead high-stakes, multi-stakeholder deals. · Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. · Experience managing RFP/RFQ processes and navigating public procurement. · Ability to travel regularly for onsite visits, demos, and industry events. · Familiarity with municipal budgeting cycles and grant-funded purchasing.
