Full Description

Overview This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States. The Risk Officer is responsible for supporting regulatory events and supervisory activities from start to finish in the lifecycle. This includes responding to regulatory inquiries, supporting targeted exams and reviews, and issue response and closure. As a key player in a shared services function, this individual will be aligned across the bank supporting several different functions and gaining exposure and experience working with a ride range of business units. This role will also support special projects, program governance, and business transformation. Responsibilities • Act as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and regulators • Coordinate regulatory exams, requests, and communications in partnership with Regulatory Relations Advisors • Develop and manage responses to regulatory inquiries, findings, and follow-ups • Lead or support cross-functional initiatives related to regulatory readiness and process improvements • Prepare senior leaders for interactions with supervisory agencies • Support for program governance and continuous improvement efforts • Reporting on regulatory event status, top and emerging risks, and key metrics • Creation of presentations for regulators, external stakeholders, and senior leadership • Engage with other risk stakeholders such as Compliance, Legal, Privacy, IT, and Cyber to provide advice on regulatory matters Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Financial Services, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, Finance, or Accounting OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Financial Services, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, Finance, or Accounting Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong business judgment, familiarity with banking regulations, and the ability to lead in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. We’re looking for candidates with experience and success in one or more of the following areas: • Supervision, compliance, or regulations • Internal audit or second-line risk oversight • Complex project or program management including cross-functional initiatives, business transformation, and systems implementations • Professional certifications are not required, but applicable credential are valued (e.g., Bank commissioning, FRM, CRC, PMP, Six Sigma, CRCM, CIA, etc) • Strong organizational skills and the ability to drive workstreams independently • Solid grasp of enterprise risk management principles, processes, and controls • Experience managing complex projects and building or improving processes • Clear and confident communication with executives and regulators • Team-oriented mindset and comfort working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment • Operating in a shared services organization with a matrix reporting structure This job posting is expected to remain active for 5 days from the initial posting date listed above. The base pay for this position is generally between $100,000 and $160,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
