JOB OVERVIEW Film at Lincoln Center, which operates the Walter Reade Theater and Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center, is seeking a full-time theater manager. Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Theater Operations, the Assistant Manager, Theater Operations is responsible for providing supervision and leadership to managers and theater staff in day-to-day operations, and executing a variety of administrative functions related to the operations of our theaters. We are seeking an outgoing individual who has experience in and enjoys managing people in a fast-paced, public-facing arts/cinema environment. Must be able to lead, delegate, create accountability, and effectively multitask. RESPONSIBILITIES Staff Management: * Assist with management of all theater staff and spaces. * Delegate responsibilities and distribute information to staff to execute daily operations in all venues. * Assist in developing a consistent, documented training program for theater staff and oversee proper ongoing training of theater staff. * Assist with staff scheduling, as needed, balancing venue needs with staffing budget. * Monitor and document staff performance, providing regular group and individual feedback. * Ensure staff’s certifications are current. Venue Management: * Work closely with FLC staff, rental clients, festival partners, projectionists, and third-party vendors to successfully execute all programming, special events, and theater rentals. * Coordinate technical and logistical set-up details for internal and rental events. * Assist with venue tours and site visits for prospective rental clients and partners. * Assist with managing deliveries of all materials, including marketing materials, concessions items, rental equipment, special event products, etc. * Assist in supervising daily administrative tasks including manager’s reports, concession sales reports, gross reports, maintenance of all internal logs, cash bank distribution. Customer Service/Theater Operations: * Serve as the point-of-contact for any escalated customer service needs. * Assist in overseeing concessions and ticketing operations for all venues. * Uphold maintenance, thorough cleaning, and organization of all theater spaces. * Communicate all maintenance needs to appropriate parties for both FLC and non-FLC property, engaging with third-party vendors when necessary. * Assist in ordering, delivery, pricing, and storage of all concessions goods. * Assist in developing and implementing plans to increase profitability of concessions operations. REQUIREMENTS * 2+ years of successful personnel and venue management experience in a leadership position in a cinema or performing arts venue. * Strong team management and motivational skills. * Ability to establish staff accountability. * Proficient in ticketing software (Tessitura preferred), Google Apps, and Microsoft Office. * Comfortable learning new software. * Superior customer service/customer relations skills. * Strong organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills. * Comfortable being in daily, close contact with members of the public, patrons, and filmmakers. * Maintaining composure in high-pressure, high-visibility circumstances. * Follow and enforce the policies and procedures of the organization. * Fire Guard, Food Protection, First-Aid/CPR certifications * Must be able to lift 30 pounds. * Interest and/or background in film is a big plus. SCHEDULE This is a full-time, minimum 40-hour per week position requiring the ability to be available 5 days a week, and generally working Saturday and Sunday.
