Head of Human ResourcesSalary Range: $95,000–$110,000 Location: White Plains NY Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Filippatos PLLC is a growing plaintiff-side law firm seeking a seasoned Head of Human Resources to lead and scale our people operations. This is a senior, hands-on role for an HR leader who enjoys building structure, supporting leadership, and creating systems that help a fast-paced organization thrive.The Head of HR will work closely with the COO and firm leadership to oversee all HR functions and serve as a trusted partner to attorneys and staff across the firm. Role Overview This position is responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle while helping professionalize and streamline HR processes as the firm continues to grow. The ideal candidate is practical, discreet, organized, and comfortable operating independently with high accountability. Key Responsibilities • Direct all HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, and performance management • Serve as a strategic partner to the COO on HR planning, policies, and organizational needs • Oversee recruiting and hiring processes for attorneys and staff • Manage benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HRIS platforms • Maintain employee handbook, policies, and internal HR procedures • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations • Handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion • Track PTO, leaves of absence, and performance review cycles • Support firm culture, internal communications, and employee engagement initiatives • Collaborate with operations and finance on compensation, bonuses, and headcount planning Qualifications • 5+ years of progressive HR experience • Strong generalist background across HR operations and employee relations • Experience managing benefits, payroll coordination, and compliance • Excellent judgment, discretion, and communication skills • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, professional environment • Law firm or professional services experience is a plus, but not required What We Offer • Competitive salary ($95,000–$110,000, commensurate with experience) • Direct collaboration with firm leadership and the COO • Opportunity to build and shape HR systems in a growing firm • Collaborative, professional, and high-impact environment To Apply: Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.
