Lead mixed-methods research to drive growth and partner with cross-functional teams to translate insights into product roadmaps.
6+ years UX research experience with product strategy focus and ability to own research end-to-end and communicate insights.
THE OPPORTUNITY Fetch is looking for a Staff UX Researcher to lead research for our Consumer Growth collective, uncovering how to make Fetch a rewarding daily habit for millions of users. You will drive research across critical user journeys, including onboarding, activation, and retention (churn prevention), to help teams understand how Fetch can deliver immediate and lasting value. Growth is one of our most vital focuses, and your work will directly shape how millions of people live rewarded in their day-to-day lives. This is a senior individual-contributor role. You will lead through scope judgment, research rigor, clear thinking, and strategic influence. Moving beyond mere execution, you will help teams frame ambiguous problems, define key hypotheses, and activate insights directly into the product roadmap. This role is for a proactive researcher with a strong product sense who wants to turn deep user understanding into measurable growth outcomes. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Lead generative and evaluative mixed-methods research across the Consumer Growth collective (onboarding, activation, and retention), ensuring insights are cohesive across the entire user journey. * Communicate strategic insights through compelling storytelling, workshops, and clear written summaries, translating complex user behaviors into actionable roadmap recommendations. * Partner closely with Growth Product Managers, Designers, Data Analysts, and Marketing leaders to identify high-leverage research opportunities, shape roadmaps, and influence product priorities. * Gain alignment with design and research leadership to establish research strategy and learning agenda for the Growth area * Triangulate qualitative insights with quantitative data (such as surveys and behavioral analytics) to build clear, decision-ready frameworks that help teams navigate complex experience trade-offs. * Design and analyze research for rapid learning and growth experiments, helping teams evaluate new concepts and onboarding flows without sacrificing user trust or long-term retention. * Enable and democratize research safely by mentoring and guiding designers and PMs to conduct their own evaluative research with the right templates, guidelines, and guardrails. * Raise the bar for research rigor and quality across the Growth area, championing evidence-based decision-making and ensuring user insights are grounded in clear truths. * Standardize research operations, including participant recruitment and tooling, and contribute high-quality findings to the shared research repository to keep insights reusable and accessible. * Utilize AI responsibly to accelerate research workflows, while exercising sound judgment to ensure quality, data responsibility, and human expertise remain at the core of your findings. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE In your first 12 months, you will: * Establish a prioritized research strategy and learning agenda for the Consumer Growth collective, collaborating with design and research leadership to define key hypotheses, success metrics, and methodologies to guide product teams. * Influence product roadmaps across critical journeys (onboarding, activation, and retention) by translating complex user behaviors into clear, compelling, and actionable recommendations. * Build a cohesive understanding of the growth funnel by triangulating qualitative insights with behavioral and quantitative data (like survey analytics), creating decision-ready frameworks to help teams navigate complex experience trade-offs. * Scale research impact through enablement, mentoring and guiding designers and PMs to conduct their own evaluative research safely with the right templates, guidelines, and guardrails. * Raise the standard of research craft and quality across the Growth area, contributing high-quality findings to the shared repository, standardizing research operations, and mentoring other team members. * Drive measurable growth outcomes by partnering with product and engineering teams to design and evaluate experiments that improve activation, repeat engagement, and long-term retention without sacrificing user trust. Minimum Requirements: * 6+ years of industry UX research experience, with demonstrated impact on product strategy and roadmaps as a senior individual contributor * Experience communicating research and decision tradeoffs to partners * Mixed-methods fluency: you've independently led qualitative and quantitative research and know how to combine interviews, usability and concept testing, surveys, behavioral data, experiments, and benchmarking to answer strategic questions * Hands-on experience designing and analyzing surveys and interpreting behavioral or experimental data; proficiency with at least one statistical analysis tool and one survey platform, or equivalent approaches * Experience owning research end-to-end, including scoping, planning, participant recruitment, study setup, analysis, synthesis, and activation * Thoughtful experience using AI-assisted tools in the research process, with sound judgment about responsible use, quality, and where human expertise is essential Preferred Requirements: * Prior Growth or user lifecycle research experience * Experience mentoring researchers or enabling designers and PMs to conduct high-quality evaluative research * Comfortable with working as a research lead in a fast-paced or startup environment * Consumer mobile app, loyalty, or e-commerce experience * A background in psychology, anthropology, cognitive science, HCI, statistics, behavioral economics, quantitative social science, experimental psychology, or a related human-centered or quantitative field ABOUT THE TEAM UX Research at Fetch is a trusted, influential partner. We work closely with Product, Design, Marketing, and Data Analytics to make Fetch a clearer, more trustworthy, and more enjoyable rewards experience. Our work goes beyond supporting roadmaps and evaluation. We define and lead larger studies to make sure the user's perspective is always represented. We set the bar for research rigor, create space for collaborative thinking, and show up in discovery, roadmapping, and product critiques — and we're trusted to drive our recommendations forward, not just hand off a report. We grow by teaching each other. No egos, just people who want to get better and help the people around them do the same.
