Director of Golf Course Maintinance The Director of Golf Course Maintinance is responsible for operation and maintenance of the golf course. • Hands on experience in every aspect of crew management (hiring, training and mentoring to equipment, turf and irrigation management) • Oversees the daily set-up of golf course, including mowing, cutting cups, moving tee markers, trash removal, weeding planters; inspects and cleans, maintenance grounds, parking lot and sidewalks as needed • Prepares and maintains golf course greens, tees, fairways, rough and other general areas. This includes the following: Irrigation management and repairs Waters and maintains playing surfaces. Mows, waters, re-sods, performs aeration, fertilization, topdressing, overseeding and repairs turf areas. • Oversees the care and maintenance of the turf, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees, and wetlands on the facility grounds. Scheduling/maintenance of irrigation systems • Scheduling/maintenance of irrigation systems • Hires, trains, Recruits, supervises, and retains maintenance staff • Supervises and controls all maintenance expenses associated with Golf Course Operations, including payroll, supplies, chemicals, and fertilizers. • Maintains records and completes required reporting. Orders parts, supplies, and equipment as needed. • Schedules maintenance practices around public play and outings to maximize efficiency and minimize disruption to golfers • Interpersonal skills to resolve conflicts and work with supervisors, officials, employees, members, and the general public. • Knowledge of the game of golf, golf rules, and methods of play.
