The Slotting Specialist is responsible for supporting the Ferguson enterprise in Slotting software configuration, establishing slotting best practice processes, slotting software configuration and slotting implementation in new concept DC’s. This is a Remote position or Hybrid if you are in the Newport News, VA HQ area. The Specialist is also responsible for supporting strategic and technical slotting projects that support the continuous improvement of Facility design and Operational efficiency. This position will participate in cross-functional teams to ensure that strategies are implemented timely and effectively in the pilot DC’s and will partner with operation’s leadership to position them to effectively deploy across the network. The role works closely with the IT and the software vendor to continuously improve all aspects of the slotting software and how it interfaces with supporting systems to minimize the manual intervention of the end user. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Supports the slotting super user group in configuration, troubleshooting, reporting, controls, future development and enhancements. Supports the configuration, testing and implementation of Slotting in New Concept DC’s. Supports the piloting and proof of concept of new Slotting functionality to support business needs. Partners with IT, operations and software vendor regarding slotting software enhancements, customization, and new releases. Supports the establishment, maintenance, and prioritization of the Slotting enhancement roadmap. Supports operational enhancements to systems and processes that will enhance user functionality and overall efficiency. Supports the development, maintenance & sustainment of the Slotting Center of Excellence. Develops slotting configuration documentation and the educating operational leadership. Supports Functional User Acceptance Test plans and participates in UAT testing and the implementation of slotting enhancements. Preferred Skills and Qualifications An IT background in integration and experience with warehouse management systems architecture a plus. Ability to lead others to a consensus and influence change. Comfortable working in a team environment, displays a customer-focused approach, seeks continuous improvement in serving internal and external customers. Must have experience with slotting software. Having Warehouse vision experience is a plus. Must have experience with Software or WMS implementations Knowledge of supply chain management, warehousing, and distribution. Strong Project Management Skills. Excellent technical and analytical skills. Experience in people and change management. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills with the ability to lead others to a consensus and influence change. Understand how the WMS interfaces with other systems such as WCS, WES, LMS, Slotting Software, etc. Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to break a problem or opportunity down into sub-components; identify root causes and drivers; use creative thinking skills in developing alternative solutions. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. - $5,175.00 - $9,716.30 - Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles. - This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible. - Ferguson complies with all wage regulations.
