Full Description

Job Description: • Lead execution of global sourcing and supplier development strategies supporting Ferguson’s global sourcing needs • Define product cost structures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and lead cost-optimization projects • Lead supplier exploration, qualification, and onboarding for assigned categories • Lead contract negotiation and execution • Implement global product development and sourcing projects and ensure successful execution of the product development pipeline • Identify, lead, and coordinate supplier diversification efforts • Support complex Business Unit integration projects and collaborate with functional teams on implementation • Develop cross-functional activities with other departments • Establish and build long-term relationships with global suppliers • Support global sourcing and business operational process development and optimization • Lead supplier scorecard evaluations and coordinate supplier business reviews • Implement complex multifunctional special projects • Drive strategic direction established by the company and department • Manage supplier performance and facilitate supplier issue resolution • Ensure continuity of supply and collaborate with procurement and global supply chain teams on inventory optimization • Provide input into the annual budget and operate within approved budget guidelines • Report to the Director, Global Sourcing and collaborate with regional general managers, sourcing teams, and cross-functional teams across Category Management, Product Development, Quality, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance & Accounting, Procurement, HR, and Legal Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred and/or equivalent experience will be considered • Minimum of 5 years of sourcing, product development, design/engineering, material and commodity management, or supply chain related experience is preferred • CPSM Certification is preferred • Ability to organize and prioritize work • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Financial proficiency coupled with technical mindedness • Strong public speaking skills and ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to large groups • Ability to develop and grow relationships with external suppliers, internal peers, and other functional teams • Strong knowledge of category-related products, manufacturing methods, and applications • Strong negotiation skills and excellent customer service orientation • Ability to travel in global regions including China, Southeast Asia, and India (10–15%) • Ability to obtain foreign travel visas, including China, Vietnam, and India • Strong knowledge of the international manufacturing landscape and country strengths and weaknesses in PVF and commodity product categories • Product engineering experience with ability to solve technical issues and assist in implementing corrective action plans • Knowledge of recognized benchmarks used in AML (Approved Manufacturers List) approvals • Experience developing products that keep pace with market specifications • Experience with industry standards, approvals, and certification processes including API, NSF, ASTM, ANSI, and CRN • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Power BI • Five years of sourcing and manufacturing experience in the industrial valve and/or PVF space • Ferguson branch experience is preferred Benefits: • Health insurance • Dental insurance • Vision insurance • Paid time off • Life insurance • 401(k) with a company match • Mental health coverage • Gender affirming benefits • Family building benefits • Paid parental leave • Associate discounts • Community involvement opportunities • Bonus or incentive plan eligibility • Remote work option • Hybrid work option for associates located in the Newport News HQ area
