About This Position The Managed Firewall Senior role will be principally responsible for acting as principal/lead engineer for the Perimeter Defense Practice Group and ensuring client systems are protected and secured. This role will report to the Sr. Manager of Technical Operations and is 100% remote. An ideal candidate will be able to: • Solve highly complex engineering challenges while utilizing all levels of technical resources • Rapidly and effectively execute deployment of products and solutions • Lead a growing team of engineers in excellence and professionalism • Act as a liaison to the broader companywide practice group for service development and ongoing refinement of services Key Responsibilities • Perform engineering tasks in support of perimeter defense services • Assist in and consult on client satisfaction escalations and incidents • Coordinate team technical escalations for clients, vendors, and team members • Draft, maintain, and be involved in the evolution of client and product documentation • Install, configure, and audit perimeter defense platforms and associated applications • Review and consult on products, solutions, and client change control requests • Regularly perform team trainings on products and services • Collaborate on practice group operations, best practices, and service delivery methodologies • Coordinate and facilitate knowledge sharing to and from the practice group • Understand the client’s end goals and help create a plan to achieve them • Perform other tasks as needed to support Perimeter Defense Practice Group initiatives • Participate in an on-call rotation Preferred Skills • Demonstrated practical expertise in advanced security management for firewalls • Consultative knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, DPI, DNS, and infrastructure hardening • Communicate effectively in any form or medium • Manage dynamic and competitive priorities • Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) • Organize complex technical tasks for multiple clients at once • Conversant with information technology and managed services best practices • Cross platform firewall management (Fortinet, Cisco, and Palo Alto) • Experience with service delivery in a managed services practice organization • Practical application of InfoSec principles Qualifications • 7-10 years of firewall/IT perimeter defense experience • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, related field, or equivalent work history • Certifications in Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Cisco desired • Experience working for and within IT for the legal industry • Experience in large-scale service delivery Why work for us?
