Our newest addition, the FedTec Fit Program Position Title: Project Manager – Consultant Location: 100% Remote (Candidate must be current SC resident – No relocation allowed) Start Date: 11/03/2025 or later Interview Process: One initial round of Microsoft Teams video interviews for the top 3 candidates; a second round may be conducted if needed. Position Summary: Client is seeking a Project Manager – Consultant to lead and manage IT security initiatives and projects that strengthen the agency’s cybersecurity posture. The ideal candidate will collaborate with IT leadership, technical teams, and business stakeholders to align projects with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and federal/state regulations. This is a remote position requiring a self-motivated professional who can work with limited supervision and adapt to shifting priorities. Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate with IT leadership to confirm priorities, identify gaps, and support the IT project portfolio. • Manage security-related projects across all phases of the project lifecycle using PM methodologies (PMBOK, Agile, Waterfall). • Define, track, and ensure alignment of business and technical requirements with security objectives. • Develop project scope, objectives, milestones, and work plans; monitor progress via Microsoft DevOps, Planner, SharePoint, Excel, and MS Project. • Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders and project teams to ensure alignment and progress. • Ensure adherence to IT Change Management for production system changes. • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and performance metrics. • Identify, manage, and escalate project risks as needed. • Assist in the development of IT policies, procedures, and training in alignment with NIST 800-53, FISMA, and SC Information Security Requirements. • Ensure all project activities comply with DPH IT and security policies. • Perform other duties as assigned to support successful project delivery. Required Skills & Experience: • 3–5 years Project Management experience managing IT/security projects through the full lifecycle. • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, FISMA, risk management, and compliance requirements. • Ability to translate technical requirements into actionable project plans and work with IT teams on systems, integrations, or infrastructure upgrades. • Proficiency with Microsoft DevOps, SharePoint, MS Project, and Excel. • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. • Experience preparing and maintaining project documentation, risk logs, and business cases. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting requirements. Preferred Skills: • 3+ years of experience working with one or more South Carolina state agencies on IT/security projects. • Knowledge of CDC, HIPAA, and CJIS compliance requirements. • PMP certification or currently pursuing PMP certification. Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent year-for-year experience. • No specific certifications required (preferred: PMP). Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $125,546.88 - $130,598.00 per year Work Location: Remote
