Full Description

Develops methods and processes that promote effective management of Aircraft Materiel Suppliers who provide aircraft component repair and overhaul services. Serves as the primary point of contact for supplier performance and relations management for all applicable suppliers. Essential Functions • Directs interfaces with supplier organizations at all levels of management to secure the supply chain of the FedEx airline. • Monitors and manages supplier performance to contractual and committed terms and ensures FedEx complies with contractual obligations. • Leads cross-functional teams comprised of Q.A./Airworthiness, Maintenance, Materiel, Engineering, Reliability) to drive optimal performance of suppliers. Collects and analyzes supplier performance data to identify areas of improvement, guides supplier developed improvement plans and oversees implementation. • Provides insights to management on risks and opportunities in the MRO and product purchase markets and input into supplier selections decisions. • Leads business reviews with suppliers to achieve optimum results in suppliers’ performance in support of maintaining appropriate inventory levels for desired service level, identifies and drives cost reduction and / or avoidance initiatives, ensures maximum capture of commercial / industry remedies, develops deep relationships with suppliers for mutual benefit. • Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or quantitative discipline (e.g. finance, accounting). Minimum Experience Seven (7) years professional, exempt experience that includes: • Contract and supplier management, strategic sourcing, and negotiation. • Economic, financial, or statistical analysis for sourcing or commodity management. • Cross-functional project or program management with emphasis on process and service improvement or market/competitive analysis. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Advanced experience in complex negotiations, commodity strategies and working knowledge of strategic sourcing methods. • Applied understanding of financial and business analysis; able to integrate market information into business cases and decision-making. • Proficiency with business software: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project), SharePoint, SAS, and Microsoft Power BI (or similar analytics tools). • Proven competence in project management and leadership; business process re-engineering. • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills for supplier and cross-functional engagement. Knowledge of market dynamics and competitive climate affecting aircraft components, MRO services, and airline-related commodities. • Able to engage and preset comfortably in varying environments to include internal O&D leadership and supplier executive leadership.
