Job Requirements Front End Engineer(Consultant, Engineering & Technical Services) We are seeking a Consultant Engineering and Technical Services professional with strong front-end engineering skills to support a GSA modernization effort. This role will contribute to the development and enhancement of modern user-facing applications, support integration with back-end and AI-enabled platform components, and participate in ongoing feature development, defect resolution, and modernization efforts. The engineer will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to deliver secure, accessible, scalable, and maintainable user experiences. At Fearless, this Consultant collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and maintainable systems across all stages of the software and data lifecycle. This role is instrumental in delivering secure, efficient, and scalable solutions that directly impact the success of projects, teams, and organizational goals. This role will possess and/or develop the skills to be able to span the domains of software development, data engineering, infrastructure automation, information assurance, and AI/ML integration at a practical application level of proficiency . This Consultant role will work on projects that allow them to contribute across the entire technology stack—software, infrastructure, data, AI, and security—to ensure quality, speed, and innovation in delivery. Your Responsibilities in this Role: • Contribute to the development lifecycle from implementation through deployment and maintenance. • Build and maintain responsive, accessible, and user-friendly front-end applications that meet modernization requirements. • Collaborate with back-end engineers to integrate APIs, workflows, and AI-enabled platform functionality into the user experience. • Support implementation of new features, enhancements, and UI improvements aligned with the modernization roadmap. • Address defects, usability issues, and performance concerns within front-end applications. • Translate designs, wireframes, and product requirements into reusable UI components and application features. • Write maintainable, testable, and well-documented code following established engineering standards and best practices. • Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from senior engineers and peers. • Support front-end testing efforts, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. • Contribute to DevSecOps and CI/CD practices related to front-end development and deployment. • Troubleshoot application issues across browser, client-side, and integration layers as needed. • Ensure solutions comply with accessibility and federal security requirements (e.g., Section 508, NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP). Fearless Customer Impact: • Deliver expected outcomes relative to high quality code and maintainable systems • Offer and implement innovative solutions that include engineering best practices through new tools, frameworks and methodologies • Serve as a trusted advisor in your area of expertise Work Experience Project Skill and Experience Requirements • Minimum 4 years software engineering experience with front-end application development. • Bachelor’s degree or higher. • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance. • Proficiency with modern front-end frameworks and libraries (React and NextJSpreferred; Angular or Vue acceptable). • Experience building responsive and accessible web applications using HTML, JavaScript/TypeScript, and CSS. • Familiarity with API integration and client-server application patterns. • Experience working with component-based UI architectures and reusable design systems. • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and standard collaborative development workflows. • Experience working in Agile software development environments. • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and front-end build tooling. • Exposure to cloud-hosted or containerized application environments is preferred. • Familiarity with accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG) is preferred. • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. • Ability to learn new technologies and contribute within a modern software engineering environment. Required Level of Proficiency: • Practical Application: You can complete tasks in required competency/skill-based areas as requested. Help from an expert may be necessary from time to time, but you can usually perform the skill independently. Physical Requirements: • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or during meetings. • Must be able to travel occasionally to client sites or company meetings, which may involve driving or flying. • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person, requiring clear speech, listening, and written communication skills. • Ability to move within an office environment, including reaching for files, using office equipment, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 pounds).
