Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Coordinator to join our healthcare team. This role is critical in managing and maintaining patient medical records while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, a strong understanding of medical terminology, and a commitment to accuracy, accessibility, and confidentiality of patient information. Key Responsibilities • Organize and maintain patient medical records, ensuring they are accurate and up to date. • Review and verify completeness of records in line with established protocols. • Enter and update patient data within EHR systems, ensuring proper documentation practices. • Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain missing information or resolve discrepancies. • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. • Retrieve medical records for audits, legal requests, or patient inquiries. • Train staff on record-keeping procedures and EHR system usage. • Participate in quality assurance activities to improve record management processes. Qualifications Required: • Experience in a medical office or healthcare setting (preferred). • Proficiency with EHR systems. • Strong understanding of medical terminology and basic coding practices. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. • Strong communication skills (verbal and written). • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and meeting regulatory standards.
