Description: The People & Culture Generalist manages the duties outlined in this job description and is a point of contact for the LoveOne and The Father’s Heart People & Culture Team. The main areas of focus are recruiting, technology set up and management, onboarding, and benefits enrollment. This position will also share the responsibility of managing leaves of absence, policy and procedure development/implementation, employee relations and performance. This role will also participate in project management for People & Culture initiatives. Previous experience with Paylocity is icing on the cake! Recruiting and Onboarding • Responsible for ensuring that open positions are approved, posted internally and externally, reviewing and conducting an initial telephone interview with qualified applicants; communicating with hiring managers regarding setting up interviews for the highest potential applicants; and managing applicants through the Paylocity’s recruiting and onboarding modules. • Patiently help new employees with onboarding documents via our online portal and/or hardcopy, as necessary. Manage onboarding documentation storage with attention to detail and compliance. • Develop an onboarding strategy and process that is welcoming and efficient. Technology • Set up employee email accounts in Google Workspace, obtain software licenses as needed, and complete profiles in various other apps and programs utilized by the organization, ensuring proper access for all users. • Order and configure phones and computers; manage inventory and distribution of technology supplies (e.g. chargers, cases, screen protectors), ensuring accurate coding for contract accounting. • Serve as the primary point of contact for Verizon Wireless regarding device purchase and account adjustments. • Create and maintain Equipment Loan forms for all tech issued to employees. • Act as the primary contact for technology issues, including hardware, software, apps, and operating systems. • Responsible for managing, moderating and creating content for the internal social media community platform. Human Resources • Maintain spreadsheets on various types of employee data. Run reports as required for staffing, personnel time off, worker’s compensation, organizational directory etc. • Identify gaps and assist with updating policies and procedures when needed. • Work with managers for position description updates. • Update Paylocity with data including new hires, earnings, deduction changes, address changes approval, worker’s compensation classification codes, final check calculations, terminations, etc. Be a backup for running payroll. • Process terminations including exit surveys, termination check list, gathering company property and COBRA. • Process enrollment, changes and termination into company benefit plans communicating to employees what to expect. • Assist with open enrollment, employee communication, and broker relationships. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Successful candidates will be a service-oriented individual with high personal standards and a hands-on work style. This position requires an individual who is comfortable working at a varying pace, managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, adjusting priorities as needed, and thriving in a busy environment. This position interacts with and provides service to internal associates and has contact with external vendors. The People & Culture Generalist must be positive and approachable, and work effectively with diverse personalities. In addition, the ideal candidate will have: • Some college education in a related field or HR certification is preferred. • Prior work experience with a non-profit is preferred. • Successful work history should include 3 years of experience in a professional office setting directly related to job responsibilities specified above with progressively greater responsibility for making administrative/procedural independent decisions and judgments. • Proficiency with both Mac and Windows personal computers, Apple iPhone, Mac and Google applications. Ability to operate standard office equipment. • Experience with setting up technology with necessary software and services • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. • Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and present results neatly, with clarity and precision in oral and written form. • Demonstrated ability to develop, plan, and implement short-and long-range goals. • Maintain a valid Driver’s License, automobile insurance, and have reliable transportation. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS • Ability to use a computer keyboard and sit in a stationary position for extended periods. • Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment. • Regular attendance is required. • Travel may be required to our other locations. • Extended work hours on rare occasions may be required to handle emergencies or special projects.
