Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have some experience working in the legal field, but will work only in real estate, small business and litigation. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Legal Assistant will provide essential support to one attorney while ensuring the smooth operation of the law office. Duties • Assist in drafting legal documents, contracts, and correspondence with a focus on accuracy and clarity • Manage case files and maintain document management systems for easy retrieval and organization • Perform document review and proofreading to ensure compliance with legal standards • Support attorney with project management tasks related to ongoing cases • Handle administrative duties including data entry, filing, and clerical support • Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate meetings for attorneys • Conduct client interviews and maintain communication regarding case updates • Prepare materials for court proceedings and assist in trial preparation as needed • Prepare documents for transactions and assist with document management Qualifications • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures of real estate law, including landlord-tenant law (landlord based), closings, and real estate litigation. • Proficiency in legal software applications such as smokeball and outlook • Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear legal documents and correspondence • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively • Strong research skills with experience in legal case management systems • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly • Effective phone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills for client interaction Our firm is virtual, so you can work at home. Our clients are throughout Wisconsin and so we usually meet them sporadically. There is a great opportunity to become full time as we grow and add attorneys.
