Job Overview Fairview is looking for Cook in the Nutrition Services Department at our UMMC - West Bank location, in Minneapolis, MN. This position is 32 hours bi-weekly. This position is responsible for preparing food items as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established standards of high quality. Schedule Week 1 Thursday: 4:00PM - 8:00PM Friday: 4:00PM - 8:00PM Saturday: 11:30AM - 8:00PM Sunday: 11:30AM - 8:00PM Week 2 Thursday: 4:00PM - 8:00PM Responsibilities Prepares food products to meet temperature and quality standards. Follows standardized recipes weighing and measuring ingredients to assure products are consistent in quality and nutritional value. Assemble food within appropriate time frames. Handle and prepare food in safe manner following HACCP standardized operating procedures Takes and documents temperatures of food items and makes appropriate adjustments to achieve standards. Sanitizes equipment and work area per assigned schedules and designated procedure. Takes ownership for self and others in work area. Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served. Required Qualifications One to three years cook experience Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, using the English language. Basic math skills. Certified or willing to become certified for food safety Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma/G.E.D.
