We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to support our underwriting team. In this role, you’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure underwriting processes are efficient, accurate, and customer-focused. Responsibilities Review underwriting submissions to ensure alignment with company appetite and criteria. Collaborate directly with brokers to collect, organize, and prepare submission materials for underwriting review. Analyze customer business information and claims history to provide insights that support underwriting decisions. Partner with underwriters to prepare raters and assist with the quoting process. Coordinate with brokers to gather required binding subjectivities. Produce binding documents and ensure risks are closed out accurately and efficiently. Work with Operations, Product, and Engineering teams to continuously improve processes and systems. Skills and Qualifications Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable liaising with brokers and internal teams. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret business and claims information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with underwriting systems and SalesForce is a plus. Prior insurance or underwriting support experience preferred Hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment. Strong intellectual curiosity with a proactive approach to problem solving. Positive “can do” attitude with the ability to own work and execute independently Startup or insurtech experience a plus.
