Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Home Builder Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement team. The ideal candidate will assist in sourcing construction materials, equipment, and subcontractors, obtaining quotes/bids, processing purchase orders, and maintaining accurate purchasing records. This role requires strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills to ensure the company procures goods and services efficiently and cost-effectively. Responsibilities: • Assist in sourcing and evaluating potential suppliers and subcontractors based on price, quality, and reliability • Obtain and compare quotes from vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing for construction materials and equipment • Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies • Track orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites • Maintain and update purchasing records, supplier lists, and product databases • Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to resolve any order discrepancies, delays, or issues • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to determine procurement needs • Assist in negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers and subcontractors • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse or site teams • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards • Answer and direct all phone calls accordingly and in a timely fashion • Order office supplies and reconcile expense reports Skills and Qualifications: • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel) • Knowledge of BuilderTrend software is a plus • Strong negotiation, communication, organizational skills, and customer service experience • Bilingual is a plus Experience & Education: • 2-3 years of administrative experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles. (The construction industry is a plus) • High School Diploma or equivalent; an associates degree in business, supply chain management, construction management, or a related field is a plus Schedule: On-Site / Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Faircroft Homes is an equal opportunity employer.
