Full Description

About the Company: Based in San Diego, California, CovalentCreative is a technology and healthcare information company shaping the future of eyecare. Through leading brands like Eyes On Eyecare, Glance, and npiQ, we deliver innovative web applications, accredited education, and data-driven insights to tens of thousands of eyecare professionals. Our mission is to empower the people who care for vision with the tools, knowledge, and connections they need to excel. Eyes On Eyecare®, the #1 provider of leading-edge clinical and career education for the next generation of optometrists and ophthalmologists, is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team. Through an all-in-one digital platform, we provide editorial content, industry news, events, CE/CME, courses, clinical content, market research, and talent acquisition. Who are we looking for? Eyes On Eyecare is a leading publication with a uniquely engaged audience of NPI-verified eyecare professionals. We help clients (and our editorial team) learn what this audience thinks, prescribes, and plans—fast and with confidence. We’re hiring a Senior Market Research Manager to own quantitative survey projects end-to-end: scoping with clients, designing methodologically sound instruments, running clean fieldwork to our audience, managing honoraria, partnering with analysts on dashboards, and delivering insights that stand up to scrutiny. What will you be doing? Research Design & Survey Strategy Lead client/intake sessions to clarify objectives, KPIs, target audiences, and feasibility (incidence, LOI, quotas, timeline, budget). Translate objectives into rigorous survey designs: screener logic, quotas/stratification, randomization, experimental controls, and change-control. Design surveys that get the right answers the first time—clear choices, logical flow, and clean data for analysis. Produce SOWs, timelines, risk registers, and stakeholder comms plans. Pilot or soft-launch surveys to catch confusing wording, logic errors, or feasibility issues before full rollout. Data Collection (Audience + Campaign) Program or oversee programming in your survey platform of choice, ensuring device compatibility and accessibility. Partner with marketing to run recruitment campaigns to the Eyes On Eyecare audience: email, site placements, reminders, A/B subject tests; monitor sample flow and balance quotas in real time. Enforce multi-layer QA/fraud controls: attention/validation checks, speeders/straightliners, IP/device/fingerprint dedupe, geo checks, duplicate NPI checks, patterned open-ends, and bot detection; document every exclusion. Maintain clean codebooks, data dictionaries, and version history; hand off analysis-ready datasets with clear variable labeling. Provide clear, real-time progress updates to clients on sample flow, incidence, and quota status. Honorarium Management Set market-aligned incentive plans by audience, manage budgets and payout logistics (digital gift cards, ACH, charitable donations) with full reconciliation. Ensure a positive respondent experience by handling support inquiries quickly and keeping payouts timely and transparent. Analysis & Dashboards Handle straightforward analysis in Sheets/Excel and Looker Studio—like topline summaries, simple cross-tabs, and basic visualizations. Build/update executive dashboards (Power BI, Looker Studio, Sheets) and co-create advanced analyses with a senior analyst (e.g., conjoint/segmentation when needed). Present findings to clients with sharp narrative, caveats, and recommendations, and work with sales to drive rebook/upsell through consultative guidance. Document exclusions, filters, and weighting decisions so datasets and dashboards are reproducible and analyst-ready. Client & Internal Leadership Own client communication from proposal through readout; set and manage expectations, change requests, and approvals. Coach Client Services on MR best practices; build reusable templates (screeners, QA checklists, incentive playbooks, etc). Continuously improve panel health and sampling practices for our NPI-verified audience. Lead the “productization” of market research services. Conduct post-project debriefs with clients and internal teams to capture lessons learned and continuously improve processes. What are the required qualifications? 5–8 years managing end-to-end quant survey projects at an agency, vendor, or client-side insights team (healthcare/B2B professional audiences strongly preferred). Expert survey craft: screening, quotas, randomization, bias mitigation, and pretesting; you spot bad questions before they go live. Proven data-quality chops: fraud detection, dedupe strategies, open-end coding frameworks, and defensible exclusion criteria. Client-facing leadership: scope/feasibility, SOWs, expectation setting, status/risk comms, calm escalation. Tools: strong Sheets/Excel, Looker Studio or Power BI (dashboard build & upkeep), survey platform proficiency. Incentive/honorarium planning and payouts at scale; compliance mindset. Clear writing and presentation skills; comfortable translating stats into plain English. Top candidates will also have: Knowledge of optometry/ophthalmology, NPI-verified panels, HCP incentive norms, ad/message testing, simple experimental designs. Qualtrics/Alchemer certifications; ISO-style SOP discipline; familiarity with weighting (raking), small-base suppression rules, and privacy best practices. Basic SQL and/or regex a plus. Familiarity with Python/R nice-to-have, not required. A note on qualifications: Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. CovalentCreative values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having experience with these exact job duties makes for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn’t followed a traditional path, don’t let that stop you from considering this role. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table. Of course, we also offer: Competitive salary with target range of $90,000 - $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience Comprehensive health insurance (90% silver plan coverage) Vision insurance Dental Insurance 401(k) Annual Profit Share Paid Time Off, Sick Time, and Paid Holidays, Flex Time, Bonus Time Off And some other cool perks… Remote: All employees work 100% remotely! Volunteer Time Off MacBook (Apple equipment)
