This position is supporting the US, and reporting to our Vice President, EPC. Individuals will provide key learnings back to the EPC internal team to help the organization appropriately pivot to meet the needs of customers. This is a remote position. Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Individual Responsibilities KOL Engagement • The Director, Academic Liaison orchestrates resources with top KOLs to build/maintain relationships with three customer groups: academic institutions, key retina practice customers, and the next generation leaders in the retina space. • Provide key learnings back to the EPC internal team to help the organization appropriately pivot to meet the needs of customers. • Ensure that exchanges remain complaint with regulatory standards, while facilitating productive conversations about research, new developments, and company updates. • Act as a conduit between KOLs and the internal teams by sharing insights from scientific and clinical communities • Executing unique, on label, education, such as disease state and product promotional messaging, as directed by leadership. • Build a detailed understanding of the defined accounts, networks, understand referral patterns and communicate information back to HQ. • Identify, cultivate, and maintain long-term relationships with KOLs within the retina community • Recommend innovative tactical educational programs that will help develop the market. • Develop fellows Cross-Functional Collaboration • Collaborate with clinical development, regulatory, commercial, and medical affairs teams to align KOL engagement efforts with broader organizational goals. • Serve as a liaison across teams, ensuring that the strategic objectives of various departments are informed by real-world insights from KOLs. Supporting Advisory Board and Scientific Events • Support the planning and execution of scientific events such as symposia, congresses, and workshops to facilitate data exchange and thought leadership. • Organize and participate in advisory boards, where KOLs provide guidance on product development, clinical trial designs, and emerging trends. Content Creation and Scientific Communications • Help create content for presentations, publications, and other educational materials for both internal and external use. • Coordinate the development of white papers, case studies, and other thought leadership materials to enhance brand credibility and visibility. Tracking and Reporting • Document and track interactions with KOLs to maintain updated records of engagement, activities, and feedback. • Provide regular reports and presentations to leadership on KOL activities, insights, and outcomes of advisory engagements. Training and Product Launch Support • Collaborate with internal teams to develop KOL engagement strategies for product launches and key milestones. • Provide training to KOLs on new product information, scientific data, and study results, enabling them to effectively educate peers and patients. Qualifications Primary skills and knowledge required include, but are not limited to the following: • Retina experience required • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required • Team oriented, result driven with an ability to effectively interact with internal colleagues in clinical, marketing, sales, and managed care • Knowledge of industry and regulatory compliance guidelines • A valid US Driver’s License and a good driving record are required • Ability to travel ~ 60-80% (Other Requirements): This individual must have a positive attitude and be adaptable to a dynamic “startup” type of environment. Should be a strong and dependable team member who builds trust with management. Be transparent, ethical, and honest, and foster a culture of the same within their team. Level of Education Required: • Bachelor’s degree: Master’s preferred Number of Years of Experience in the Function and in the Industry: • 10+ years or more; level based on experience.
