Description Discover your exciting role Exentec BioPharma Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Lawrence, MA, to lead the engineering and design of custom pharmaceutical equipment. This role involves reviewing customer requirements, translating specifications into product designs, and coordinating technical information between customers, vendors, and internal teams. The engineer will work closely with the Project Manager to track design progress, ensure deadlines are met, and verify that all deliverables conform to the latest specifications and quality standards. Explore your tasks and responsibilities Collaborate with customers and Project Managers to define conceptual configurations and initial design requirements. Review customer specifications and incorporate them into assigned projects. Develop custom mechanical designs that meet customer needs and industry standards. Follow project schedules and complete assigned tasks on time. Prepare advanced bills of materials and identify long‑lead components. Review final design packages to ensure compliance with current specifications and requirements. Produce drawings for approval and release, including major component designs. Provide hands‑on support to the manufacturing team during system build and assembly. Other duties as assigned. Show your expertise Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. Three to five years of related mechanical design experience preferred. Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software, including Pro‑E/Creo (preferred), AutoCAD, and SolidWorks. Ability to create detailed 3D assemblies and fully documented 2D drawings in accordance with ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing standards. Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes used in sanitary pharmaceutical equipment (e.g., sanitary valves, pumps, flow meters, tanks). Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative design team. Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
