Job Title: Legal Secretary Schedule: M-F 8a-5pm Pay: $20-23/hr Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Legal Secretary to support our attorneys and staff in daily administrative and clerical functions. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, efficient, and able to manage sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment. Key Responsibilities: • Provide administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and office staff. • Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports. • Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings and court dates. • Answer, screen, and direct phone calls; greet and assist clients and visitors. • Maintain and organize case files, both electronic and physical, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. • Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies as required. • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and email communications. • Track deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements to ensure compliance. • Assist with billing, invoicing, and timekeeping records as needed. • Perform general office duties including photocopying, scanning, and ordering supplies. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in legal studies preferred. • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a secretary, administrative assistant, in a legal office setting. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal practice management software. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. • Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation preferred. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism. Work Environment: This is an on-site role in a professional law office setting. The position requires regular interaction with attorneys, clients, and external partners while maintaining a high standard of discretion and professionalism.
