Job Title- Transportation Analyst Contract- 5 months (High possibility of extension) Location- Charlotte NC Pay range- $20/hr- $21/hr Summary Our client, a leading organization in the food and consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector, is seeking a Transportation Planner to support daily operations within the Bakery Network. This role focuses on the planning, scheduling, and execution of Fresh Bakery and Bakery Equipment loads within the Transportation Management System (TMS). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, task-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment. The Transportation Planner is responsible for coordinating and overseeing transportation activities across the Bakery Network. This includes planning loads, managing carrier performance, and ensuring timely and accurate execution of shipments. The planner partners closely with the Enterprise Logistics Manager of Continuous Improvement to support operational excellence and drive consistent service performance. Responsibilities • Plan, schedule, and manage Fresh Bakery and Bakery Equipment transportation loads within the TMS • Monitor and manage carriers from load tender through final delivery, including acceptance, On-Time Pickup, On-Time Delivery, and service follow-up • Identify and address delays, service issues, or exceptions to maintain network performance • Execute daily operational tasks with accuracy to ensure all load expectations are achieved with no outstanding carryover items • Collaborate with the Enterprise Logistics Manager to support continuous improvement initiatives • Perform data entry, communication updates, and documentation within TMS and Microsoft Outlook • Multitask effectively while maintaining accuracy in a time-sensitive environment • Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and transportation best practices within the food/CPG industry Qualifications • Bachelor's degree preferred; recent college graduates encouraged to apply • Candidates with relevant transportation planning experience are considered strong applicants • Military veterans with logistics, supply chain, or operational experience have historically been very successful • Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) required • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook; general Microsoft Office proficiency preferred • Highly organized, task-oriented, and results-driven personality • Comfortable working independently with limited external interfacing • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment
