Role - UI/UX Developer (Senior) (1 position) Ref# WO 46 Location: The primary place of performance is on-site, at 849 International Dr., Linthicum, MD, 21090 - Suite 320. Resources must reside in the DMV area. No teleworking will be permitted; based on assignment and team needs. Position Description: The Computer Programmer (Senior) shall utilize IT equipment and languages (third- and fourth-generation or current state-of-the-art) to develop and prepare diagrammatic plans to solve business, management, communications, and strategic problems. This individual shall design detailed programs, flowcharts, and diagrams showing mathematical computations and sequence of machine operations necessary to copy and process data and print results. This individual shall verify the accuracy and completeness of programs and systems by preparing sample representative data, and perform testing by means of cycle and system processing. • Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights into user behaviors, preferences, and pain points within the shared platform environment. • Analyze research findings and translate them into user personas, user journeys, and design requirements that inform the design process. • Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for various applications and tools within the shared platform, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and adherence to design standards and best practices. • Collaborate with developers and technical teams to ensure that design solutions are technically feasible, scalable, and aligned with performance, observability, and security requirements. • Participate in designing and implementing data governance and security measures, ensuring that user interfaces promote data integrity, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations. • Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and pattern libraries to ensure consistency and efficiency across the shared platform's user interfaces. • Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to improve and refine the user experience, addressing performance, stability, and observability issues. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that design solutions align with business goals, technical constraints, and stakeholder requirements. • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX/UI design, accessibility, and user-centered design principles. Education: This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or a related scientific or technical discipline; or three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field. (Note: A Master's degree is preferred.) General Experience: The proposed candidate must have at least eight (8) years of programming experience in software development or maintenance. • Five-plus (5+) years of experience in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating user-centric design solutions. • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar software. • Strong understanding of user research methodologies, usability testing, and design thinking principles. • Experience in designing complex systems, data-driven applications, and enterprise software. • Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., WCAG, Section 508). • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to work in an agile environment and adapt to changing requirements and priorities. • Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus. Specialized Experience: The proposed candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience in IT systems analysis and programming. • Key qualifications include strong project management skills, leadership abilities, effective communication, and the capacity to identify and resolve issues while adapting to changing circumstances. Significant experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, product owners, and stakeholders is essential • Preferred qualifications include a technical background and experience in data and AI/ML projects. Functional experience with local or government projects in Data Services (MDM/R360/EDMS), Child Support, Integrated Eligibility, Child Welfare, Adult Protective Services, Juvenile Justice, or Health and Human Services is also preferred
